Rainy day in HK
I love Australia but the country is seriously lacking of a coherent foreign policy. We're surely smart enough to make our own policy decisions for ourselves now. We do not need to blindly follow our allies. We have to actively manage our relationship with the world.
NYTimes: Turning #IllRideWithYou Into Real-World Action in Australia The events of #sydneysiege were saddening and disappointing. But #illridewithyou is the reason why I love Australia. There is #toomuchhate in the world, let's put some #love&respect back into it.
And then there are some beautiful Hong Kong days.
There is something relaxing about cooking on Sunday evening.
The things the youth of today does. At least they are "running" outside I guess.
After work, poolside. A stressful week in Singapore, but at least the hotel has got options to unwind.
Since the US was a colony, why don't you send a team to Ferguson as well? Or perhaps Christmas Island in Australia? No? Why not? Those people are not important? Give me a break. Stay out of other country's business. The US stuck its nose in the M.E. and we know it's not for the betterment of humanity. Go home. Fix your relations with Scotland and stop trying to make these hooligans out like they are heroes. They are not. Anyone wanting to find peace from war is uneducated.
Friday night bustle
Some days in Hong Kong, they are amazing. And you think it might be possible to live here forever.
Recycling
I’m not a greenie. And I’m not in any way a scientist to debate about climate change or global warming. But my mom did teach me not to waste. So I think that’s a good enough reason to be recycling.
So I was utterly disappointed when there was not a single recycling bin to be found at Clockenflap. I expected better, given the amount of publicity occupy got with recycling.
Because the truth is, that behaviour is not real in Hong Kong.

I work for a bank
That’s where they throw a bunch of ultra competitive, egotistical alphas into a room and ask them to device a strategy to help others “achieve their ambitions the right way”.
Did you think that’d be easy?
Scotland
Scotland is pretty beautiful. But other than its beauty, I also remember when a gruffy cashier rudely declined my £10 because it was “printed” by Bank of England.
Sovereignty baffles me. There are no clear rules and there are no good precedents. I can’t even really logically understand the concept of borders. From a geopolitics perspective, just as I disagree with the UK not being a part of the EU, I find no good reason for a breakaway Scotland. Maybe except the ego. But that’s politics.
The world isn’t laughing at you, and I doubt they ever even thought of doing so. I’m bummed I don’t get to find out the ending to the independence story, but not all things need to be broken first to be fixed. Guys, sit down, talk it over, for real. If that many people can put in that much effort to campaign and vote, surely the combined effort can lead us all into a better world.
There are more similarities between each of us than differences. If only we spent more time on the former.
Sunset on the way to swim training
This is the kind of love-hate relationship I have with HK. Love the quirkiness and the fusion of streets, hate the heat and hecticness of it all.
