Sigyn the Shieldmaid page 11
[Note: There's all nine shieldmaids! Take a good long look at them now because there's a good chance you'll never see them this detailed again.
Also, I'm going to take very short hiatus from updating the comic (We're talking one, maybe two weeks) Just to give myself a little extra time to prepare upcoming pages. They're all written and ready to be drawn, but due to being real busy, and real slow at drawing, I want to make sure I have enough buffers queued up, before I have to start cramming. 'Cause right now I'm one bad cold away from being forced to go on a hiatus. So, I'll see you in one, maybe two weeks! who knows, we might finally get to meet this Loki guy by then ;) ]

When the fanfic is so good you just have to make fanart of it🫡
This is a scene from "Stuck in the middle with you" by Teaseawrites, which I would *highly* recommend!
Time: 30+ hours.
Program: Clip Studio Paint.
Ipad, Apple pencil.
This one nearly took me out. Like seriously, I think I have maybe fifteen sketches/scrapped versions of this because things kept going south once I added colors and started painting.
Of course, I'm still not 100% happy with it lmao but it'll do.
I also saved the color sketch bc Grace's face cracks me up lol
Can I interest the people in some Olympian Olympics AU content tonight?
The context of the top row is that the Olympian Olympics also include the Panatheniac games, which are yearly, as opposed to every 4 years, and also include more "fun and games" vibes, not just sports. There's a performance and poetry competition, for example.
For the more sportsâ„¢ disciplines it's a qualifying event but there's a twist! Due to an idea from an Athena kid years back, who decided that the general population was not interested enough in the Panatheniac Games, and decided to spice things up by adding in cross-team tournaments.
According to the lore (not that one), the cross-team events are meant to promote sportsmanship among the athletes (desperately needed at the time but that's another story for another day), and help engagement from the audience, since it's more dramatic. It worked, amazingly enough. It also *Hunger Games music plays softly* helped create the AU Olympus is a media conglomerate vibes.
The mixed teams are voted on by a committee, and every year there's betting on who will be paired up with who, which team members will be paired off, who will perform well, who will flunk completely.
The team events are not singularly qualifying, so if they fail they can still compete in the Olympics, but it will hurt their score, and their public image.
Apollo and Dionysus, both associated with performing arts but in different fonts, are therefore locked a long feud. When they get paired up it never ends well, because the two teams simply don't get along. Neither do their manager/first coaches, Dionysus and Apollo.
So when the newcomers, (one returning after an injury, the other replacing his much more beloved siblings who retired) from those exact teams are matched up, they're not very happy about it lol.
I'm gonna do a loredrop in a powerpoint because I could talk about this for days, but I need to structure it better lol.
