Hakuoki thing that bugs me a little

I can’t say I have a favorite character in Hakuoki. I do think Kazama’s quieter moments with Chizuru are very cute, but there’s something very distracting to me in the movie. When Chizuru jumps off the boat, I expected her to land close it like this:

But she lands on the other side of Kazama:

How the actual hell did that even happen?

I'm aware @blueneil already pointed out that the group picture is a redraw of other official art, but did you know the original SSL splash art was a redraw as well? (I guess it's a little more obvious... I feel it really highlights that SSL started as an April Fool's joke that evolved well beyond its original intention)

Bonus (this has nothing to do with SSL, but it's also an official "modern" redraw with tons of jokes and (yankee-related) puns in it).

He's going to drop back onto his pillow in a few seconds, but at least he's got enough energy back to show his gratitude to an exhausted Chizuru who's been taking care of him non-stop since Shimada dragged him out of the burning Ustunomiya castle.

Kind of wanted to redraw the scene from the anime, because I thought it was cute she fell asleep next to him, and I like headpats.

Hijikata looks so dapper as a Taishou gentleman in the Asakusa Taisho Romankan collaboration that got announced earlier this week. Needless to say I had to draw Chizuru in the matching kimono.

Why is she laughing, and where are they going? I leave that up to your imagination, but here are some things that crossed my mind while drawing:

Mr. and Mrs. Hijikata on their honeymoon, a research trip, or just a leisurely holiday. He's a published poet/professor of historical Japanese literature (and his work is well-appreciated by his fans), and she's a published writer/doctor. They met at a writer's event at the university… or something.

This was the only one I was able to save after all my Hakuouki and Touken Ranbu WIP files got corrupted (┬┬﹏┬┬)

I‘m happy I was at least able to finish this Saniwa Chizuru with the Okita-gumi ( ; ω ; ) I still have trouble with lighting and I should really figure out how to color faster

I have this idea that in the bad ending where after Souji kills Chizuru and was about to end his own life, he meets Saniwa Chizuru and she brings him to the future where she cures his tuberculosis and he lives his remaining days in Honmaru with her and the Touken Danshi ❤🌸
