You know, this thought has been plaguing me for a few weeks now, but... how fucked is it... that Kallus was confronted with the reality that he has no true community. A biological need for humans if not most sentients in the galaxy has, and he serves an entity that strips that need to it's crudest essentials. The Empire runs on capable bodies, not people. If you are bent you might as well be broken. Show too much humanity (or... sentient equivalence) and you will be broken. Kallus broke after multiple failiures and abandonments for and by the Empire, then subsequently crashing with Zeb and facing kindness from his greatest enemy at the time.

Damn... that would fuck me up, too. Dude spent his whole career sacrificing his relationships for the Empire, he slips upon meeting the Ghost and they treat him like shit, finally feeds his fundamental need for companionship with his main op and has to reevaluate his whole life.

Bro starved because he was told it was for the greater good and then was forced to see how bereft it left him. He really was at his lowest on Bahryn, I genuinely think Kallus would have died without Zeb. Not just literally, but mentally and spiritually. Goooooooooolly i fucking love themmmmmm

Edit: And how human was he still, compared to the rest of the higher-ups in the Empire, that he finally crumbled for that human weakness?
