Yoko Moriwaki was a 13-year-old girl who lived in Hiroshima during WWII. She kept a diary that was a record of wartime Japan before the bombing of Hiroshima. The last diary entry is from the 5th of August, 1945, the day before the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. The following day, Yoko died in the blast.Her brother survived the bombing and subsequently made her diary available for publishing. In 2013, Harper Collins published “Yoko’s Diary” in English.
