🐣 Searching Exclusive Easter egg!
This Easter egg was so well hidden, even Searching writer / producer Sev Ohanian didn’t see it until he’d read my post! (The second picture is his comment on my Reddit post.)
In the top picture you’ll see references made to fictive locations including two that include ‘Merrick’ (referring to Will Merrick, who is the editor and Director of Virtula Photography), one to Qasabian (Natalie Qasabian was a producer of the film), and a very interesting one to ‘Scheve Multi-Use Area’.
So, what is ‘scheve’? According to the Urban Dictionary, ‘scheve’ means ‘ To steal someone else’s pot smoking utensils.’ What does that have to do with this map? If you remember, Margot Kim was at her favourite place in the world (Barbosa Lake, see map) smoking marijuana the night she disappeared. As we can assume she wouldn’t dare keep any smoking paraphernalia at home, it’s only logical that she picked some up along the way, right? Well, before going to the lake she was smoking weed with her Uncle, who was a regular smoker and certainly had all the material. This means she must have stolen -- or scheved -- it from him before parking at ‘Scheve Multi-use Area’ and taking advantage of one of the multi-use aspects of the location. 🥦🌿
