Hello! I'm Luke (30, he/him), and this is my writing blog (aka Writeblr). This is a sideblog, so I interact from saintreinette. I am looking to interact with other writers, especially other poets and YA authors!

I've been known to say that I'm a poet by nature and an author by trade. My poetry is at times gruesome, usually visceral, and always straight from the heart.

My original fiction generally centers on Rilta, a fictional continent in an original world of mine. This is a fantasy setting featuring mostly humans, some of whom are witches (the catchall term for magic users), along with other magical entities such as phoenixes, unicorns, demons, and angels.

My "main wip" is a novel titled Saber, which takes place in Rilta. Saber follows a boy named Tenken as he comes into his own as a witch in a time when witchcraft has only recently been legalized. Tormented by his knight father and the other squires, Tenken begins to find purpose for himself and his magic upon meeting his long-lost uncle. Their reunion sets into motion a series of events that sees Tenken find friendship, love, and conviction, even as a powerful necromancer threatens to destabilize his home kingdom of Ruuntaka -- and take away these treasures that have only just come into Tenken's reach. Saber is currently on its third draft. Please look forward to it!

I also write fanfiction. The main fandoms I write for are FFXIV and YGO. In the past, I have also written fanfiction for JJBA and Shaman King.

"I'm a woodsman; nothing more."

"Could you tell me your name, kiddo?"

"It's just chamomile," the man explained. "It's probably too hot to drink right now, but the cup should warm up your hands."

"You know, Tenken," Han began, "I haven't had guests in a very long time." He spoke without looking at the boy. "Then those squires came stomping into my woods… Sure, they could probably scare off most wildlife this time of year, but some dangers cannot be dissuaded." A small, strange smile flitted across his lips for half a moment before disappearing. "Everything about them was obnoxious -- but you know that better than I do, don't you?"

"I suppose that's the right question," Han admitted aloud. He opened one eye to peer over at Tenken. "I used to know Kazran, once upon a time."

"Don't let your guard down just yet, kiddo. You don't know if I'm full of crap or not."

"Tenken, I didn't even know you existed before I found you crumpled in the snow. What could I possibly want from you?"

"Surely you must have assumed there was a reason he never told you that you have an uncle?" Han's lips curled into an almost ugly expression for a moment. "But perhaps there is more to it than that, after all."

i have been thinking a lot about the way that words sound when no one is there to hear them. there is no such thing as silence -- not on a green earth; not on this green earth. the violence would be treacherous if only we didn't expect it.

they say it matters when we think of people as children, siblings, parents, cousins. they say it matters when we wear their shoes. why does it not matter when people are just people -- when people are clay that breathes life even without a name?

but you are more than clay. you are more than flesh. you are more than a heart that cries out from beneath the rubble of anguish.

i want to say,

"i hear you; i hear you; i hear you,"

the way a green field whispers into gold. i want you to know that i love you, and even if i didn't, i would still want you to live. we all look the same when we die; frozen, like snow, like water yet to return home.

"come home," i will say, and make the shape of a house with my hands. "come home," where the violence has ended, and i can hear your voice, sparkling like tomorrow.

Argos bit his lip, his brow furrowing as he felt Airin’s forehead. Her dark hair was damp with sweat, and she groaned without opening her eyes.

Her physiology was not quite human — close enough that his usual methods would soothe her for a time, but far enough that the effects didn’t last. Argos frowned.

Isrun paced behind him, his heavy steps creaking the floorboards of the cramped room. His boots clunked as they hit the floor. Argos didn’t need to see his husband’s face to know which expression he wore.

“There has to be something we can do,” Isrun said. “A medicine, or some kind of magic?”

Argos shook his head.

“Perhaps, but I don’t know which.” He sighed, pushing aside his blond bangs to rub at his temples. What would Adrian say?

u know what, even if my writing isnt the BEST, i still made it all on my own. like there was a blank word doc and i filled it up with my own words, my own story. i took what was in my head and i made it a real thing. idk i feel like that alone is something to be proud of.
