the way shin looks at saint when saint isn’t looking is not hatred

You’re not angry, you’re heartbroken.

Shin was never angry at Saint, and he never hated him. He expresses those emotions as a shield, to mask what he’s truly feeling. He’s trying to convince himself he hates Saint, but he knows he doesn’t and never did. He probably couldn’t ever truly hate him.

He’s hurt, betrayed, heartbroken, and in grief. He misses his best friend but he can’t forgive him because how could the person he loved and trusted the most do that to him?

It’s very clear he’s extremely conflicted with himself.

Even now, he still misses Saint so much. He wants to let him back in his life, but he can’t stop getting reminded of what Saint did to him every time he looks at him.

It’s really sad, watching Shin go through those emotions just in the span of a few minutes.

He thinks about what they once were, what they once had, and it breaks his heart that they’re not the same. But then memories of what Saint did to him haunts him every time he considers forgiveness. Maybe the feelings of fear, dejection, helplessness and betrayal comes back every time.

The faux anger and hatred is a defense mechanism, but it’s clear he’s losing the ability to make it seem believable. He can’t keep convincing himself that he hates Saint either and it’s honestly really saddening to watch. I feel so bad for him
