i love changing my handle to suit all my other handles sorry guys
just got a firestorm reading list so I can contribute more than saying "i'm firing my storm."
little rant
my space is generally GLs, or at least it is now, because beforehand I used to be very big into batman when I was little, and I still generally kind of am, but online spaces with batman fans have to be the worst places on the comicscape shaped hell i've made for myself.
there is something really special about people loving to characterize specific people as abusers, or fundamentally misunderstanding or glossing over characters just for the love of the game that drives me wild.
i can't ever fully escape it either in any space—rather personally i'm a very big fan of cass cain and the amount of people who i see frequent spaces that don't care about her, but rather the characters shes attached to/characters that “make her interesting.” cass is a very interesting and intriguing character and theres a part of me inside that torches an angel every time she's reduced to “girl i can ship with all these guys” and alternately i see this with steph as well, along with that hopefully this is understood; cass with steph but never steph with cass.
say a batfam opinion anywhere about anyone and they take you into the street and stone you. its TRUE!!!!!!!
this isnt a universal experience btw so ive seen but its one ive had frequently for it to just be spit balled
fans in the batfam area can be so god awfully toxic that its just not appetizing for me period, but then again a lot of people are engineered still to forgive people like grant morrison for what they did to talia despite it stemming from racism
tldr racism in comic book space bad, stan good, tiddy warm and world cold.

going to start talking about my ocs as if ive posted about them for 10+ years
i feel bad talking about rj all the time because her lore is so long. i write as if shes a real character in the dc franchise. she has an instagram highlight dedicated to it. but i digress, anyway,
i don't live vicariously through my characters as much as i tend to project minorly on them, rj being no exception, but majorly the fact shes in misery often is a reflection of a lot of past issues i had, so shes more dear to me than some of my characters.
rj deals really heavily in things like depression and suicide; the woman literally has two attempts in her main backstory and then decides to walk into work afterward as if she didn't. but then by the end of her major arc that pushes her into heroism, its all about rj deciding that she wants to live, and there is more out there for her, and that she loves earth, more specifically. lifes too beautiful for her to be wishing she was gone.
she depends on support. she needs people. shes shy about needing people but she needs them and everyone knows in her own way she needs them. she loves her job. she loves her friends. she loves living every day even if its the same because shes now dedicated to living. shes a hero because she thinks everyone should be dedicated to living too. because she loves earth.
and also if she died she wouldnt have any star trek in heaven, except maybe enterprise.
rj is deaf. she doesnt speak. nobody listens to her but her coworker. everyone listens to her because shes important and its always when she doesnt want them to listen to her. shes tortured. shes miserable. she takes enjoyment in collecting figurines. shes a surrealist. she believes in cosmicism. she feels like a dead end most days and then suddenly she needs to take herself out of obscurity to be a human being again. she suffers but its all worth it.

rj would say this
i have various quirks about rj i have yet to put put into the world, but she refuses to associate with anyone who vapes. or uses e-cigarettes. she smokes cigarettes & flavor infused cigars only and she doesn't want to be around your cherry flavored pie sprinkles swirl bean flicking dunkaroo pride flavor yo. use a fuckin bong

i nuke my profile every so often to remain mysterious
