I do gotta wonder 0.0 how did viri become truthlessViri? Did something happen to him that shattered his world completely? What about moonflower faerie? Is she afraid of him or is he afraid of hurting her?

Viri!pv’s descent into viri!tr started with a cursed flower he accidently picked

He would collect moonflowers just to keep having dreams with moonflower faerie (her existence is bound to the moonlight and the flower and it was the only way to see her)

when he reached for what he thought was a moonflower but ended up being a Birnam bloom (deceitful plant that mimics the real moonflowers) It’s what turned him slowly into viri!tr, It gave him that thorny vines curse and also messed with his reality by forcing nightmares and false visions onto him.

And so he had to isolate himself in the forest so he wouldn't hurt the faeries of the kingdom :[

In the king!Sage AU, I have a feeling he's less daunted by the narrative than traditional Ad-Lib, because he kinda just... accepts his fate? It's the truth of his and viri!Truthless' lives, after all. So why not have fun and enjoy himself for as long as this lasts; living his best life and trying to coddle his cute little fae before his inevitable tragedy

unlike ad-lib shadow milk, king!sage accepts the the narrative as their reality and truth,, he wants to help viri!truthless to lift the curse (which the prophecy has told him he is the only one able to)

viri!truthless thinks it's a lie, although he wants to indulge in it because no one has ever showed viri!truthless affection because he was always feared, he wants to push sage away, afraid that the curse might hurt king!sage...😔

Here you go! .✦ I use the first one to do the sketches and the lineart And then I use the default "soft pen" brush to do the base coloring The second (one next to it) is used for hair shading, clothes folds, and objects with hard edges .✦ The last two are used to add some faint shadows, light, or more vibrant colors (for example, gradient coloring, adding blush to the face, soft blue shadow below the hair). I suggest you use the rough airbrush at a low opacity lastely I would recolor the lineart I did according to the colors that fit it (It's a good practice to let the lineart have darker colors in places where the shadow and the lines meet) .✦ I recommend you give each step its own layers to save time: lineart layer, and you can divide the base colors into layers too to make the rendering process easier. As for rendering, I make a new layer above the base color and choose the "clipping mode" so that the shadows and lights stay inside. Alpha mode is also useful, but only if you're sure you won't have to erase anything while you render. I hope this was helpful !
