A Milestone of Achievement
This past week I was able to attend the graduation of my grandson, Sam, at the United States Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, CO as a II Lieutenant. He graduated 61st in his class of 931 students with a major in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Spanish. Busy Bees
May is a great time for bees to do what bees do. Last January I sowed more Irish Clover in the snow. Pleasant Surprise!
We finally got a break in the weather. Last Sunday was 65 degrees in February so we decided to take the blankets off the hives and check to see if hive #3 died in the -20 wind chill. Will They Make It?
This year has been extremely cold for long periods of time. We wrapped the bee hives in blankets as well as using special lids with protective foam. My son and I checked on the hives the other day and put our ears to the lids. On hive #3 we heard nothing. In hives #1 and #2 we heard a low buzz.
