I started this as an experiment with lip-sync and expressions back in 2021 and worked on it on and off for a while. It's been a long time since I have returned to it so I want to post it, even 'unfinished'.

Another project from a while back. My husband and I joined some friends and collaborated over one weekend to create Dice Mice - The Adventures of Gorgonzola for the GMTK 2022 Game Jam with the theme " Roll of the Dice". My friend Kinga and I created the art, animations and sound effects. Kinga did most of the painting and I edited and animated it. I think we had the most fun with the sound effects! Free to play :)

oh dear! A project from 2021 that I never posted about (and never quite completed). I participated in "Things took a Turn" animation anthology with the theme On a Dark and Stormy Night , you can check out the full clip and the other submissions here. It was an awesome experience. I learnt much about trying to complete a full short from script, storyboard, creating all the assets and then trying to pull it all together in a deadline.

This is getting kinda old! (2020 :O) I was hoping to complete a clean up pass but I think I might just let it go for the learning exercise that it was.  At the time, I wanted to challenge myself with something that had slow and fast movements. The second gif is a ball I used as a guide for the motion and the volume of the hips.

I have been following Richard William’s Survival Kit again and working on some walk cycles for practice. I am very tempted to do the in-betweens and clean it all up but I think it is better to move on. I am dying to make her skip and I feel none of these walks actually fit her personality.

I have also been refreshing my brain with the Stringbing Workshop. I did these walks last year, thinking that I would return to them and do the in-betweens. Ha! That’s not happening. So it is about time I post it.

For some practice I did a head rotation of a character I have been working on for a while. There are a number of things I think could be better, but this is where it is at.

I think I could have pushed depth further with her hair and fringe, which is still a bit poppy and the star has a wiggle. 

Also, generally, her head shape and eye shape could be better defined (and shoulders would be good).

There are flaws in my process. I need to work rough. Ctrl-z is the death of me.
