I see a RIDICULOUS amount of people being embarrassed to say “oh, I lowkey miss the dsmp it was such a good time…”

Like… you know you can like the dsmp, right? Indulge in fan art, fan fics, talk about it online, watch clip compilations, do whatever. There is literally nothing holding you back from doing something you enjoy.

“But the real people are controversial” then don’t interact with their content. There are plenty of reposted videos of basically any stream you could want and majority of clips are compiled by fans already made into shorter yt videos for you to enjoy without having to watch an entire stream or support a specific creators content.

Who cares. In the grand scheme of things, what is this gonna do? You’re gonna be happier because you’re enjoying something you like? I don’t see how that’s a bad thing.

Go watch “dnf flirting for 10 minutes straight”. Dedicate a blog to your favourite character. Make content. Watch content. Don’t be afraid to be so happy it holds you back so much

THIS. I used to feel so guilty for liking dsmp back in 2024, it took me a bit to fully accept that I couldn’t really control my special interest. The lore has so many themes I enjoy, and so many character dynamics and tropes i can easily get obsessed with. The best part about dsmp is the ccs create the ground work, they can tell you what’s canon, but overall you can really turn the story into your own thing due to the amount of plot holes they leave and the fact that the ‘canon’ designs are just mc skins, allowing for creative freedom when designing ^_^ dsmp is such a great step for storytelling genuinely like you don’t have to support the actor to lovr the character

TBH I think c!Wilbur has a bunch of qualities in common with Vox the whole charismatically convincing lots of people that it’s in their best interest to support the cause—and by extension him—when really what he wants is power and control 🧐

To those of you who still see L’Manberg as a “good” thing… I’m here to FIGHT the case that it was literally a cult!

A country built on a literal drug scheme with giant walls around it was not a good thing I fear.

c!Wilbur was NEVER a ‘good guy’ or a ‘hero’. He was only seen that way by the L’Manbergians, and the main character of the story just HAPPENS to be a L’Manbergian who looked up to Wilbur very strongly, and a lot of people take that main characters view as law for some reason!

c!Tommy is an extremely manipulated character. Especially by c!Wilbur. Characters like Fundy, Tubbo, Niki, Eret etc. Remember Wilbur as this ‘hero’ who was fighting against Dream’s ‘dictatorship’.

WHAT DICTATORSHIP? Dream was literally the server owner. You could leave the server ANY time. Dream had fair, peaceful rules and everybody lived in harmony before Wilbur decided he wanted the power. His whole scheme was to disrupt the peace and create a plot because that’s what he DOES. He’s never been a “yay let’s be on an SMP and chill together with friends” person. L’Manberg is the root of every characters trauma. It was inevitably going to be. It caused the ENTIRE plot.

c!Wilbur gave L’Manbergians that cult-ish “us vs them” mentality, where it was “Dream SMP = bad, violent men!” while “L’Manberg = peaceful and perfect”. When Eret betrayed them because bro developed critical thinking skills and realised L’Manberg was really bad for the server, c!Wilbur made everyone think Eret was the devils spawn. He’s literally SHUNNED in the anthem. He shines such a bad light on him because the sheer concept of not being loyal to L’Manberg is absolutely heinous!

“Oh but Dream started the war!” HE HAD TO!? This random british fuck was brainwashing half his server, what else are you supposed to do.

FURTHERMORE, saying the walls were for “protection” Is the most culty thing I’ve ever heard. Why was c!Wilbur just never questioned. He elected himself as president (AKA a dictator) and everyone was like “yea yk what that’s cool” and then when people treated Wil more as a friend than a leader, he held a RIGGED ELECTION to try MANIPULATE everyone into thinking they had a CHOICE. THAT IS SUCH A CULT LEADER THING TO DO. And upon losing, he didn’t go “evil” (he already was), he just finally hit rock bottom and wanted to kill everyone for it. Think “Brighter” from HH, that’s literally it.

Anyhoo you can’t be a c!Wilbur fan without actively hating on everything this man has done, it’s the fun of it :3 I love my deranged, mentally unwell, egotistical arsonist

(Coughs also adding to this I don’t think c!Wilbur is actually inherently ‘evil’. I think he was someone with horrible mental health who never got the help he needed, and rose to a secure sense of control only to lose it all. I love how his character touches on such a dark part of humanity, and the way horrible mental health can really influence the actions of someone. I mean, Ghostbur is PROOF that c!Wilbur has good in him, it’s just the man struggles to take the needed actions to BE that good part of him.)

Dream SMP “Villains” as The 7 Deadly Sins ?

Pride : Wilbyr is a great representation of pride. He’s always had that ego throughout the entire story— constantly believing that he deserves to be in charge and his say is better than Dream’s. When he’s exiled, he critiques that the citizens in Manberg “don’t deserve that happiness” as he’s not part of it anymore and has hit rock bottom, causing his infamous spiral.

Envy : Quackity spent a lot of time on the SMP being in someone else’s shadow. First Wilbyr’s, then Schlatt’s etc. etc. Maybe at the start Quackity’s intentions weren’t for power, and truly were to just stop Wilbyr’s dictatorship, but his intentions slowly begin to change especially when he creates Las Nevadas. He’d always been the one having to follow someone else’s orders when instead he’d always wanted to be the one *giving* orders.

Greed : After L’Manberg, Dream made it his mission to have everything back, causing his downward spiral. He *wanted* everyone’s attachments, he *wanted* to be a ruler, he *wanted* as much power as possible. Naturally, his defeat left him with nothing but a prison cell. Dreams perspective of needs and wants seem to blur (similar to most on the SMP…. though, Dream also suits Pride.)

Lust : I put Schlatt as lust mostly due to how he treated the men under his rule…. y’know, since Quackity had the fattest ass in the cabinet! His whole marriage with the guy was definitely more based around bodily appearance and sex appeal than anything romantic like Quackity initially wanted… though I would definitely also put Schlatt in gluttony because of his alcohol addiction.

Sloth : Drista isn’t necessarily considered a villain, but she has a big lack of responsibility with the power she possesses.

Gluttony : Bad just cannot get enough of that bloody egg… (pun). While not his fault, he still falls under worshipping it and getting worse as his thoughts are consumed by the egg— I’d say it could definitely be considered some sort of addiction.

Wrath : Techno goes to some *extreme* lengths to perform revenge. I mean, he only logged onto the server to enforce anarchy and take down Schlatt, and was never afraid to talk about his very obvious violent intentions. He did NOT hold back during Doomsday, and the amount of withers this man possesses is absurd.

That being said, a lot of sins can connect and intertwine, especially with characters like Wilbyr and Dream. And as always, it’s simply just my take, and it’s totally fair to disagree! ^_^
