Hi all!

So I know it has been absolutely ages since I posted on this blog, I'm sorry! I've been super busy bla bla bla BUT THAT'S NOT WHY I'M HERE!

POTTERHEADS, YOUR ATTENTION, PLEASE!

EVERYONE ELSE I ALSO REQUIRE YOUR ATTENTION BECAUSE THIS IS IMPORTANT SO LISTEN UP!

I have become lucky enough to be a part of the wonderful, First Wizarding War roleplay group known as A Pyrrhic Victory. We're super friendly (seriously, I was overwhelmed at how amazingly welcoming everyone was) and the quality of writing is stupendous.

Auditions for muses are currently open! We'd absolutely love to have you, so I beg you, please, please come and apply! It's a really well modded group, with loads of prompts and activities and challenges, and so much fun to write. It's made me a much better writer, and it's just been amazing.

It's a pretty dark roleplay, so not for the faint-hearted, but it's a wonderful safe environment, and Crux, our beautiful and talented admin is always there if you need to talk, along with all the other writers.

Open starter - "I'm sick."

"Don’t say that, Thorny.  You two are cute together.  It’s just…you know.  All the stuff you went through.  You’re different now."  She blinked, amazed at his speed.  "That’s—fine.  I keep forgetting angels go fast."

Thorn chuckled, whisking an egg up. “Cute? I suppose.” He grinned to himself as he cooked, humming to himself, and was done quickly. He served up, and carried it out to Cheryl carefully, balanced on a tray with a glass of orange juice.

"Dinner is served."

"Yes, I said cute, and I meant cute."  Cheryl groaned as she pushed herself to a semi-upright position on the couch, and gave Thorn a weak smile.  "Thanks so much, man.  You don’t know how much I appreciate this."  She dug into the meal without ceremony.  "Oh, this is awesome."

"It's no problem, you've done so much for me and Al, it's the least I can do." He gave her a small smile, watching as she ate, sitting on the unoccupied sofa, wings folded neatly behind him.

He tucked her head under his chin, one hand stroking through her hair, the other holding her close. “It’s okay, you’re safe and I won’t let them hurt you, not ever.” A burst of anger rose in him, anger at the people who had made her feel this way, anger that she could be so scared, but he pushed it down. That wouldn’t help him now.

It took her a long time to calm down enough, her emotions low, leaving her an exhausted mess slumped against him. “Thorny…” She looked up, pulling her face away from his chest finally. Her skin was healing over the tiny burns left by her tears. Bloodshot, and pale, her exhaustion clear on her face… and she’d sensed his anger, ears flat against her hair, worry vaguely there as well.

"There.." He smiled, wiping away her tears with the pad of his thumb, feeling the heat and leaving a little healing magic over the burns. He let contentment fill the room, a feeling of serenity and peace, and leaned forward, gently pressing his lips against her own, feeling the same heat there.

Well I’m sure you’ve done all you can and somethng will come through for you. Finding a job is hard but you will do it I’m sure of it :)

"Shhhh, it’s okay, you’re safe." He repeated quietly into her ear, his hands moving to cover hers softly. "You’re at uni, and you’re okay." He reached out to her along their bond as well, soothing, calming, trying to quell the fear that he could smell on her, it was that strong.

"What was it?"

"D-Doct—Doctors—" She whimpered, keeping her face against his hoodie. His reach helped, and she could feel the panic ebb away slowly, leaving her a shaking mess in its wake. "E-Everywhere… n—needles—" She shuddered, her nails nearly tearing the fabric the harder she gripped.

The pressure is more on finding a job than doing something that is unpaid. Payments are getting a little harder around here and my dad told me he needs me to find and grab a job. I’m working with a friend to see if I can secure a job at Gamestop and I applied to a lot of places and I haven’t heard back yet.

Well I'm sure you've done all you can and somethng will come through for you. Finding a job is hard but you will do it I'm sure of it :)

He’d woken the moment she’d started heating up, even the few degrees that she had. She was whimpering softly, and he ran a hand down her arm, murmuring as he took her wrist, feeling her elevated pulse, fanning her with the wing she wasn’t lying on.

It was only for a moment though, as she screamed and rolled off the bed, lashing out at him. He flinched, moving out the way, but no fire came, and she scrambled to a corner, hiding behind a chair, dragging her books and bag to hide herself. He grabbed a hoodie, pulling it on in case anyone had heard the screams and came to investigate. 

"Al? Calm down, it’s okay…" He pulled the chair out the way, feeling the heat coming off her, and took a deep breath, before moving forwards, kneeling in front of her. "Allie, listen to me. You’re safe."

She looked at him, seeming to see him for the first time, and he reached for her, pulling her in close, wrapping his arms around her. He kissed the top of her head, nuzzling her ears, and pulling her carefully into his lap. “You’re safe.” He repeated, moving her bag away to settle himself more centrally, stroking her hair as she shook in his arms.

She could hear his voice clearly after the initial shock of her nightmare, struggling to breathe. Tears felt hot, burning her face as they rolled endlessly from her eyes. She felt herself bordering panic and tried to will herself away from it, clinging hard to the fabric of Thorn’s hoodie.

"F-Fuck—" She whimpered, burying her face deeply, hoping the fabric would dry the tears that wouldn’t stop. "Fuck—" She repeated, whisper slowly growing higher in pitch, mingling with her sobs. She tried not to think about the needles she’d seen in her nightmare, tried to remember she was back in reality, far away from any doctors.

Yeah, things get kind of rough for me, especially because I haven’t been out of the house properly for a while. I go out every now and again but being home a lot is having a bad effect on me. I missed out on the semester because financial aid screwed me over (and it continues even now so I have to wait until I can re-apply, which should be soon.)

And yeah, we moved back in uh.. October-November-ish. 

Ohh, I forgot about that. I just checked it and yeah. Awesome. ♥ Thank you~

She had to take a break after exams and stuff and she wanted to visit so she came down. I didn’t know when or if you were gonna be able to come back so yeah ;w ; It’s funny that you wrote she had a nightmare bc she did have nightmares the night before. Loki-related bc Cher’s Loki, Liesand, entered the chat room and scared Allie a lot. 

And I’m doing alright. Hanging in there.

"I know," she sighed, setting down her empty tea mug.  "No matter who you’re involved with, wariness is always good.  And I’m starving, actually."  She smiled at Thorn.  "You know, there was once a time when we were warning Allie against you in a similar way.  Not anymore, of course,” she hastened to add.

Thorn got up, heading into the kitchen, moving faster than a human ever could. “It’s quite alright. You were right to - I just wish it had worked…” He sighed, quietly, and then shook his head. “Is chicken omelette ok?”

He shifted the wing out of the way„ behind himself, watching her quietly. “It’s fine. It’s good that you did, if you’d been much later-” He stopped, not finishing his sentence. “You.. why did you offer?”

"I…"

She dropped her gaze to the glass in her hands.

"For Allie mostly I guess. We’ve…barely seen her since you left and-" she sighed. "and when we did she wasn’t really…herself. And then you came back and she was was so so happy but you were…dangerous…"

She gave a small shrug, still not looking at him. “I wanted to help.”

He nodded. “Thank you. I… It kills me that I’m… like this.” He didn’t know where the sudden honesty was coming from, perhaps his release from the hunger, perhaps because he had no-one else to tell. “I just… I want to be normal for her, you know? To be… just her boyfriend, not a threat or… someone who has to be locked away from her.” He sighed.

She looked up at him, trying to read his face. She felt drained, weak, and was still very pale.

"I know that. It hurts you both and-…yeah. That’s why I wanted to help." Because most of the time I have to stand by and watch.

Briefly she thought about trying to stand up, but just the idea made her head spin.

"We won’t tell anyone. But next time you need a…" she paused. a fix? “…y’know. Just come find me.”

He nodded, solemly. "No-one can know. I'm protected, for now, but... I don't know how long it will last, and if the higher-ups find out I've been feeding..." He let the threat hang, not directed at Esme, but he didn't stop to think how it might sound.

"Will you be okay?" Allie, never far from his mind, tugged inquisitively on their bond, and he focused on Es. He'd taken too much - but if I can get it regularly, if I can get it under control - he put a hand to her face, slowly, carefully, holding her gently.

"Kai? Are you ok?"

Kairo’s own ears flicked back, and she purred, tails wagging. She stood up and nudged Harri’s chin with her nose, affectionately, and yipped softly.

Harri smiled, her own tail raising, waving happily. She shook, phasing smoothly, and shook her fur out, nipping Kai's ear fondly.

In fox form, Kairo snuck in and curled up against Harri, chittering.
