For the purpose of rping, this blog, which is already canon divergent enough, doesn’t take into account season 4 and 5 of the originals (as much as I love them) unless engaging in Legacies rp. Then again, Stefan is alive in that setting.

And like I said before,  Caroline and Elena will be taken selectively as canon relationships, with Elena having happened only if it still goes on and not if he has been replaced with a worse version of himself. While Caroline will be taken into account if and only if Carolines want to, or LIzzie’s and Josie’s want to explore Stefan as a second father figure because mom’s husband. And we all know Stefan would be an amazing dad. Otherwise, he’s single.

And in all context: he  never fucking died.  Because his story is not over

While I write Stefan as gay, and that’s the default, I might have him questioning it. And let me explain, when Stefan was born there was no definition for what he felt, he felt compelled to like men, mostly, and when Valerie paid attention to him he felt good and comfortable, then Katherine came and ripped him off of any form of decision making. In this sense, he probably probably probably decided after that moment that he only liked men and denied any influence women could have.

In this sense, I will, selectively admit that he fell in love with Elena, for real, he identifies as gay because there was no demisexual bisexual greysexual ideas back in his day. But in all due honesty, he did in fact fall for Elena, and her heartbreak ruined him. After that Caroline gave him some hope there where it is counted that they were together.

I still remain being only season 1 to 3 in terms of canon events, as most of what happened after I don’t agree with. If I do play a romantic Stelena it’d be without taking into account D*lena. With the sirebond being addressed as the problem and solved. Fanservice was the ruin of that show for me and I don’t like it.

If I dop lay a romantic Steroline, then yes further seasons count.

Stefan’s canon divergence commences from the very case of being identified as gay however it should be noted that some canon events do take place in his life. Most of season 1 to 3 is vastly respected, as well as 4 without the romantic implications of Stelena. Passed that:

He never truly defended Damon taking advantage of the sire bond.

When Klaus and the originals left, he followed them (nah! kidding, but this is a different verse lol)

He got sent down by Silas, sure, but his trauma lasted longer and his trust for Elena and Damon was almost vanished.

He never was involved with Valerie Tulle except to pretend. As bad as it sounds, to try and pretend and fight his own sexuality.

He did acted angered towards Julian but didn’t go against his mother that hard. He recognized an abuse survivor and defends them.

He hated Damon’s attitude towards Lily.

He didn’t fell in love with Caroline, instead it was Matt. Or Luke who survived the wedding after waking up when Kai lost that aspect of him. 

When he left with Valerie to run from Rayna and the scar opened once again he didn’t seek Damon, instead he runaway, asking someoen else to wake Damon up. 

These events without s8 to be accounted at all, are th only ones taking place in cases where I rp passed season 4 or 5 of TVD.

Lexie was an amazing character and her friendship is so important to Stefan that, even if someone played her as a male character, it’d still remain  a friendship. Unlike Caroline’s possibility which is there because the sexual tension has always existed, their friendship came from respecting Elena.

Stefan and Elena having dreams of their life together is the best thing of season 5. Literally, the best stelena content too, what should’ve happened if fanservice hadn’t fucked it all up. It’s amusing how people was like “Paul and Nina have no chemistry, Ian and Nina have more” and then they saw Stetherine and shipped it and claimed their chemistry to be there. It’s stupid. 

Personally, my only non canon divergent situations would be a) ignoring the sire bond being romanticised or b) that universe in particular where they were human. In these situations, Stefan would not be gay tho I can’t even justify it in any other way than “this verse is pure canon but canon divergent”.

Contrary to canon, Stefan does drink blood from humans. While most of his diet is covered on animal blood, he understands that it weakens him far too much without giving him much clarity. Yes, he’s a ripper, and thus needs a larger control, but he finds it good to feed off of his partners/lovers and friends. He could drink a little from a kiss, he  could drink in the bliss of post orgasm, he could drink during it or even in an exchange, knowing that that way he couldn’t lose control. He only can’t do it if he’s mad and angered.
