The old oak in the rain

By the time I reached the old oak yesterday, what started off as a gentle rain was starting to become more intense. It was at this point the Sony Cybershot went into my waterproof rucksack and I resorted to using the camera function on my phone to take the rest of the pictures I was planning to take. It wasn't ideal but given the circumstances, it meant I was able to carry on with the photography, even though I was starting to get a trifle damp.

Given the mood created by the overcast sky and the rain, when I was editing these images, I thought rendering them in black and white would be the best way of conveying the atmosphere.
