The Only Ones
We sat around the midnight fire,
Underneath the darkened sky,
We were like the last survivors,
Free from all the world gone by.
Midnight fire warmed our hearts,
Glowing in the northern valley,
We were no longer apart but
healing hearts in unity.
Tonight we are the only ones,
The only people on the earth,
Far from home and on the run,
Living at the wild hearth.
Silver was the shining aura,
Beaming on the northern valley,
Ancient lands we will discover,
Tenants of the ever-journey.
Summer air, cold and soft,
Carrying a night birdās song,
We gazed up at the mountain tops,
The borderlines that stood so strong.
Tonight we are the only ones,
The only people on the earth,
Far from home and on the run,
Living at the wild hearth.
My lungs were weary, filled with smoke,
My eyes were heavy, fire-lined,
My boots were torn, almost broke,
But oh, I really didnāt mind.
We spoke of past and future paths,
Spoke of who we used to be,
Enraptured were our beating hearts,
We sang the songs that set us free.
Tonight we are the only ones,
The only people on the earth,
Far from home and on the run,
Living at the wild hearth.
Bittersweet nostalgia came,
Intertwined with fire-dust,
Times will change, times will change,
Sparks they rise and fall to pass.
The winding roads weāll take from here
will run away, and separate,
Through darker days weāll persevere,
Our journeys, they will resonate.
But we are so alive, tonight,
Blessed by this eternity,
Shining with our own ignite,
In the hidden, northern valley.

From Dust to Gold
Jaded roads in bustling streets,
Could one day lead us, paved in gold,
To shining kingdoms, new and old.
Passing strangers, crossing ways,
Could one day wander side by side,
Hand in hand, souls alight.
Beyond all that we are,
All that we see,
Thereās energy waiting to be set freeā¦
Summerās twilight, night-time air,
We perch upon pavement, cold but free,
Conversing, making memories here,
And those after us, this place shall see.
Fire may burn, and ashes fall,
Your wings had scars, tears, marks,
But a phoenix will rise above it all,
Reborn from fire in novel sparks.
Beyond all that we are,
All that we see,
Thereās energy waiting to be set freeā¦
Silence, silently challenges me,
The break that wills, waits to be broken,
Flush it with roaring sound, melody,
Soul to surroundings, into the open.
For misty shadows blur our view, ātil
streaks of gold pierce the air,
We walk our glowing paths into
the lands we never knew were there.
The Girl in The Dream
I had a dream
where I loved somebody,
Strange and silent world
without time
and boundary,
I was lost in the silence,
Enchanted and taken
by memories in fragments,
A fleeting vision,
Her starlight eyes, piercing
every doubt and fear,
She resonates from there
to here,
Past, present and
future days,
I feel her
ever-lasting grace,
Through plains of gold
we walked, I saw
fiery lights dance above
the Eastern shore,
And I knew not if Iād found
a new land to roam,
Or if I was, in fact,
coming home.

Distant Lights
As I stand at the edge of the world,
Looking out upon infinite sea,
I see the distant lights again,
Shining from where I want to be,
Distant lights on the other side,
Home to my dreams, visions and futures,
Distant lights, weāre separated by
a rolling sea of fears and distractions,
Pale shimmers in the ghostly dark,
The far-away beacon in this ocean
of fading dreams, decaying souls and
lost journeys,
Echoing sparks dress an endless horizon,
I hope that I make it there someday,
Using my visions to guide me through,
To breach the barriers of my reality and
close the distance between me and you,
A glow that penetrates the darkness,
Permeates silence, radiant Elysium,
Ever-calling, ever-glowing,
Theyāll haunt me if I never reach them,
My heart, reaching like the tide,
In waves of nostalgia, wistful streams,
For wondrous places, harmonious voices,
And the person I am in my dreams,
Distant lights in a changing land,
I hope that one day we meet.

Our Power
How wonderful it is to even exist,
To live, and breathe, and feel all of this,
To see the world, to laugh and love,
With stars, endless worlds above,
How beautiful it is-
to be.
Our thoughts and dreams, our greatest fears,
Our passions, emotions, our bravest ideas,
Burst like perpetual roaring fireworks,
Our powerful souls, the flare in our hearts,
Together we light up-
the world.
Thereās power in the moments we create,
The bonds we forge that never break,
The hidden worlds that we discover,
The life-changing stories we tell eachother,
Truly, our energy will last-
forever.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Together, we have so much strength. I think sometimes we can forget that, and we can lose hope. We have the capability to do great things and make positive changes around us. We cannot underestimate the power of unity to heal, to build and to just better experience our lives. We need to make the most of it, absolutely and completely.
movement
so once again
we sit and stare and
try to move forward, away from here
from greying skies and lifeless air
but we finish nothing
we wait for
days, people, weather
something new, something better
new methods of distraction
whilst we live in repetition
weāre always caught-up in
the cycle
of living and dying, being mortal
light, darkness, beginnings, endings
shining moments, dying memories
and thoughts, questions, blurry movements
unfinished dreams that lie in fragments
so once again
we sit and stare and
try to move forward, away from here
scared that
weāre not getting anywhere.
The Race
My injured foot on the starting block,
Trembles and fumbles but thatās not all,
My anxious coach with his thick-red socks,
Cradles his head as he tries to keep cool,
āA hundred metres, the best in the worldā,
āA final he shouldnāt be in, in his stateā
A hundred chances for bright lights hurled,
A hundred chances to make my fate,
And see her face.
The floor of the track grips my tongue and my throat,
The small sibling-guns hang suspended and still,
The hard-nosed men to my left, the champion to my right,
The crowd falls silent, as we await our fight.
A burst,
A swipe,
A drive,
This is war, this is war!
The roar of the crowd, for the leading champion,
The roar of my heart, for her, ahead,
Iām in second, my feet, threatened,
I find my place, Iām ready to shock,
This is my time, to test my terror,
And I thrust and I surge and I soar and suddenly the others are speckles of dust-
in my raw, violent storm,
And Iāve got him, the expectant-confident-hostile champion,
Iāve got him, in a drive, a swipe, a burst!
And Iāve won it, Iāve won it!
But I havenāt finished my race, to find the girl with the freckled face,
My sisterās there, her fair hair and her mocking stare,
Sheās there, and for us itās all that matters.Ā
Hear My Voice
I shout!
Into the void I shout-
and scream to be remembered,
To be heard forever.
Iām just a blur between everyone else and-
centuries of history standing behind us,
Years of love, art, war, revolution,
And people forging their legacies within them,
And with so many moments, so much noise,
Nobody will ever hear my voice-
or tell my story.
For the bustling world to hear me, the caller
I must shout louder, work harder, and faster,
Will I ever make a mark?
Will my words ever light a spark
in your heart, your mind, your far-away soul?
I hope, but may never live to know,
World, donāt let me go.
For I am always battling time,
Trying to reach those far-away lights,
As seconds, minutes, hours, days,
Are forever slipping, falling away,
Please donāt make me leave this place,
For I have multitudes of energy-
to share with the world, to be set free,
Please hear me.
So from my heart comes a roaring sound,
Though my voice will forever be drowned,
Regardless, our time to live is now!
To make our mark, to be heard and found
amongst the cities and the towns,
The seas, the fields, the arctic, the desert,
The mountains that rocket into the heavens,
The light, the dark, the days that have past,
And the future, the unknown road that lies-
ahead of us.
Truth
Give me truth,
Give me honesty,
Do not decorate your words-
when you paint your picture of me-
with your perception,
No mist, no blurriness,
Please, just tell me.
Iāll face your storm,
Iāll brave the rainfall,
For truth is violent-
and wildly painful,
But truth is clear, and it frees us all,
For it is better to tread on rocky paths-
than to never even tread at all.
I now have a new theme. c:
Dark days do happen. I suppose they make the brighter days even more beautiful.
Thoughts: #55 (11/07/15)
Hello there, new followers! Iāve been working on myĀ āThoughtsā series. Quite simply it is comprised of my thoughts that Iād like to share with you. I will continue to put dates on when I originally thought of them just for some context. Some are new and some I wrote quite a while ago. And sometimes what Iāve done is gone back to a thought I had and āre-visitedā it/added to it. I quite enjoy doing that! Hope you enjoy. More writing on the way soon.Ā
Take care, Ā
Sam x
Believe in yourself. Your light shines far brighter and wider than you could ever imagine.
Thoughts: #54 (05/01/15)
Try new things, visit new places, learn and grow whenever you can.
Thoughts: #53 (31/10/2014)
Have confidence. Be aware of your strengths. Use them. But do not discard or ignore your weaknesses. Donāt let your weaknesses dictate you; donāt let them get the better of you. But if you can accept and embrace your weaknesses, like old, stubborn friends, and are willing to work on them, you will be even stronger. You can turn them into strengths and continue on.
Thoughts: #52 (#30 revisited:11/07/15)Ā
Conversation and bonding doesnāt just have to be for people that have things in common. In fact, if you donāt have much in common with me, great. Iād love to hear you talk about what you like, teach me about things I donāt know. Having things in common is lovely, but it isnāt a necessity. Differences add variety.
Thoughts: #51 (#19 revisited) (22/06/2015)
