I don’t understand the girls in this site. Like, at all.

They laugh how men have fragile egos, but they complain about a fashion article for weeks.

They hate cisgendered white men, but worship Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jensen Ackles, Chris Evans, and other white male celebrities.

Bash men for fetishizing lesbians, but they create fan art and fanfics where gay men are sexualized; some of them glorify rape and pedophilia. Plus, they ship real life men.

They hate bronies for sexualizing MLP characters, then there’s Elsana porn all over the place. And they fetishized a real life person (Yuzuru Hanyu incident).

Making kitchen/sandwich jokes is a sin, but “kill all men” is acceptable.

Criticize men who complain about friendzoning, then they quickly call a man misogynist, racist, transphobic fat shamer if he’s not attracted to them.

Does that mean men doing shitty things doesn’t exist? Of course not. But women are equally shitty, but they seem to deny it or make up some excuse. I know they’ll say I have internalized misogyny or I don’t know what feminism is (it’s scary to think this is considered feminism). Still, this type of behavior is not only hypocritical, but unhealthy.

This is a pretty damn good summation of a lot of the young women on this site. (though of course not all but OP doesn’t mean all - she is a young woman herself after all)

I genuinely think that at least in part this is a reflection of the feminist narrative that has flowed freely in our society in the last few decades. The idea that women have never had ‘freedom’ and have been kept down by men is where this comes from, and leads naturally on to the idea that women should somehow now be given extra freedom, if you like. The freedom I am talking about is of course freedom from gender roles and the freedom to express yourself as an individual - before anyone misconstrues these comments.

Of course with only a little thought these ideas unravel. Men have never had ‘freedom’ either - they will simply put into a different box than women were. But still, we have been convinced. Men have been able to behave in a particular way for centuries - why should women not now be able to behave in the same way? But, you know, it’s still wrong for men to behave that way because it is a symbol of their position as ‘oppressors’.

The sad fact is that young women are not taught to look at themselves in an objective manner, to question their own behaviour. This has led to the situation we are in now where women and young girls condemn behaviour in men, yet condone the same behaviour in women because somehow they don’t view it as being the same. Because they have been taught that they shouldn’t be questioned.

Ban Bossy is a perfect example of this, and there are others. It’s time we stop coddling women and teach them to take responsibility for their own choices instead of teaching them that any choice they make is fine because they have ‘suffered’ for so long. And it is most certainly time to teach women to be able to take a long hard unbiased look at themselves.
