These pictures make me sad. I was so excited to see my idols hand prints and her star and I wanted to share these, but I couldn’t. Because I look huge in all of these. This was during an incredibly depressed time in my life. I was not happy with  myself and starting to realize that. I was wearing the only warm clothes I had that fit me at the time. I was so uncomfortable and my boyfriend at the time didn’t help. I want to post these now because despite all that was going on in my brain I am still, even if it was just for the brief moments during these photos, so so so excited to have finally seen Julie Andrew’s star, hand prints, and the front of a theater I’ve lived so close to my whole life and never appreciated.

A Gem

I found a gem.

I saw a glint the first time we spoke. It started at work with training and riding along.. but it turned into trading stories and laughing about the same things. We quickly started flirting and there was always this spark. Circumstances made the beginning rocky. There was always glimmers. Cracks in the facade. Hurts and pain came easily and we both retreated behind our hard exteriors that are so tired of being there. We just had to figure it out. Something was always pulling us back together. We began sending memes. Memes became our escape and our way to reconnect. We continued trading stories but these became about something deeper. These were the day he drove me passed the house where he spent teen years that weren’t anywhere near perfect. I rubbed a little more dirt away. I fell apart and he put me back together. We stood in the kitchen eating root beer floats talking about depression food and how we hope we can survive on Cane’s and taco Tuesday. Whenever he says he forgot to eat I don’t gasp and scream WHY!? I suggest places he likes and talk about how hungry I am, even if I’m not. When he asks if I want to get food and I smile through my eyelashes and shake my head no he only half teases me. Then he proceeds to offer me food options until I give in and eat something. We’re good for each other in a very dependent way. I lay on his bed while he plays video games and I genuinely enjoy myself. I’ve noticed the glances and smiles and the moments we’ve shared mean more than anything because you see, I’ve found a gem. Someone who balances me when I thought all I created was chaos.

Edit-**ten minutes after I posted this he sent me to work with a lunch. Turkey sandwich, Doritos, cheese and a banana. Gem.
