Splash Mafia (Thread 1) (Closed rp group)
It was raining. Fitting for the mood. Makoto thought to himself as he held the umbrella for Haru and himself. They were all wearing suits usually reserved for parties or meetings, but most often for funerals.
Makoto looked around at the solemn faces around him. There were some that were crushed, some that were bitter, some looking vengeful, and some that were blank. Hell, a lot of them were already drunk. It was rare to have all the members present and to be completely silent. Of course this was no normal situation or funeral.
Tears burned at the back of Makoto’s eyes as the previous boss’s ashes into the bay water. He had to be strong in front of everyone. He had no choice anymore. He had been decided as the new oyabun of Iwatobi. He had to be strong for everyone, including himself.
The old boss had been a father-figure for him and was the kindest man in the business. He was a great boss though. Hard when he needed to be, and kindhearted all the other times. Everyone loved him and Makoto had big shoes to fill after his death.
"Tachibana-dono, Nanase-dono," One of Makoto’s many kyodai approached him and Haru, bowing. "We would be honored if you could speak now."
Makoto handed the umbrella to Haru and walked through the crowd of suits, his head held high. The only sound that could be heard past the pattering of rain on umbrellas was the clink of Makoto’s cane as he walked to the edge of the beach until he was separated from everyone. He cleared his voice before speaking to the crowd. “This is a sad day for all of us. We have lost our leader and friend at a crucial point in negotiations. I know that a lot of you are calling for war with Samezuka, but I ask you that we try to discover all the truths before mounting an attack on old friends.”
"Do not get me wrong, I will hunt down and kill anyone that gets in my way.” Makoto paused, holding everyone’s attention for a brief moment before continuing. “For now, I want all of you going back to your original duties. I will have men investigating. Iwatobi will not go down!”
Makoto was drowned out in cheers at the end of his speech. Everyone was talking now, no longer somber or quiet. He leaned heavily on his cane, old injuries aching because of the rain.
He looked out across the bay at his city drenched in rain, a chill going up his spine. This is the beginning of something big isn’t it?
