Rin nodded absently at Nitori’s suggestion that he eat. He felt a little disoriented, and remembered that he hadn’t managed to keep food down since before he’d learned of his father’s death.

He reminded himself that he had to keep up the mask in front of the general masses. Once the three of them had retreated, he was allowed to let it down.

"Seijuurou," he said flatly. "Keep them busy. I won’t be long."

He led his sister into a room off the hall where they would be able to eat in peace, and he waited for Nitori to return.

"Gou, how are people reacting? I need to know what I’m dealing with."

Seeing the others into the room off the main hall, Nitori went back for the tray of food and grabbing a younger male to carry it while he carried the drinks. He directed the young man to set it on the table and stand guard. “Kimichou is inside with his sister and Seijuurou-nii. You let no one in. If someone wants something, knock and I’ll come out. Understood?” The poor guy nodded, eyes wide.

Despite his fairly kind and youthful disposition, Aiichirou’s tolerance for disappointment was notoriously low and his abilities with the straight razor were infamous. The younger brothers of their group were nearly as afraid of him as they were of Rin. Smiling pleasantly, he had the underling help him balance both trays and open the door for him.

"I’ve brought sandwiches and drinks. Water and juice. No alcohol, I’m afraid." He directed the last line at Rin as he set the trays down and stepped back to stand out of the way. He knew his place, and he wouldn’t join the conversation unless invited.

“Thank you, Nitori,” Gou murmured as she took a glass of water from the tray. She was a bit unsure on how to answer her brother- telling the truth could just make him uneasy. But then again, she knew what happened when her brother found out he had been lied to.

She took a sip of water and sighed, “they’re angry, for the most part. People are demanding that we do something to avenge him. They’ve been asking where you’ve been the past few days, too.”

By asking, she meant demanding, but that was the one detail she decided to withhold from him, and even then she wasn’t completely lying. She just hoped that no one would try to convince him to go to war while they were trying to mourn.

Seijuro nodded at Rin's 'order'. It wasn't really demanding so to speak, but he knew that Rin was serious. He had to break away from the group for a minute to make a few calls. Some were made up excuses, and others he was fairly blunt. Either way, he got his point across that things were going to take a little longer than they expected, but they were going to be active soon. They seemed to agree to his calls, and were going to wait it out.

When he was done with his calls, he made his way back to the group. He decided to be the one that made sure things wouldn't get out of hand. He was hoping they wouldn't but he had to keep his guard up. It didn't hurt, and better safe than sorry.

He kept an eye on each of the people in the room. Everyone was on edge, and he had a feeling someone could snap at any moment. He didn't know why he thought these things, but after everything that's happened, he couldn't risk anything.

"Yes, yes, you’re right. I’ll work on it Senpai." He smiled and was glad when Seijuro took seconds. "Do you have a lot of homework tonight Senpai?"

"Yeah, got some math, history, and English homework, which isn't really going to be fun." He groaned slightly, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration.

He smiled and nuzzled his captain’s hand softly. “Not too bad. But I don’t mind. Especially after seeing you enjoy it so much.”

"You should care more about your well being Nitori. I'm glad you aren't too hurt and all, but seriously." Seijuro said, starting on his next bowl of food.
