All the way back in 2022 I started doing pet portraits. I love doing any type of pet portrait and I want to start posting more of them, plus some of the people I’ve been working on.

I love my #harrypotter dog. https://www.instagram.com/p/B0Pa8YzAPbS/?igshid=z28lf0hqljjw
It's a little wet out. Lunch date with a friend before work tonight and a little light reading about catastrophic volcanoes. https://www.instagram.com/p/B0JoeB0g75i/?igshid=1h8bdlj90rpt9
This book is everything. Ever since my dad died last month I have been cleaning, decluttering, donating, and deciding what "things" are most important. Partly because I want to move but don't have a definite date of moving, partly because there was admittedly more clutter than I should have, but mostly because I don't want my family to wade through stuff they don't know what to do with like I'm doing now with some of my dads things. This book had a lot of solid advice and was pretty funny too. Think of it as a partner book to #thelifechangingmagicoftidyingup. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bz9v-T6ACrO/?igshid=xb1qd7c9qab3
Maybe I'm just a huge medical nerd but this is an amazing book. My skin is crawling a bit on this chapter about leeches. https://www.instagram.com/p/BzwandggKSK/?igshid=19nzakfshdtok
Went out walking Ginny and I found a classic in a little free library! Super excited to read this finally. And an actual book post for the first time in a few weeks can't hurt either. https://www.instagram.com/p/BzYgdAjgVdy/?igshid=4czyzoik4yua
She is totally ball obsessed. More than our golden retriever. https://www.instagram.com/p/By8qFdMg8j4/?igshid=1svg0x1vkyn1c
Freed up some space when I got this amazing cart from IKEA! The ones on the top are the books I plan to read next. I also had to make some room for my Niffler. https://www.instagram.com/p/ByjUFi7A4qR/?igshid=1gamoj2cqcr2l

Browsing around the Internet and Pinterest, I love reading lists like these. I identified with every one of them perhaps because of self-fulfilling prophecy, and maybe because I grew up loving books and I fully embraced the book obsessed lifestyle. I would read everything I could get my hands on as a kid, adult and children’s books alike.  Being a book lover was important to me, even then. So…

What is the point of being alive if you don’t at least try to do something remarkable?
John Green, An Abundance of Katherines (via uselessatheart)
“The first time I sat in that library, holding a book published before 1500, I felt something akin to the way I have felt next to oceans: tiny, and in right proportion to the world. Handling books from centuries before is a poignant reminder that, not only have people loved books for as long as they have existed, they will continue to do so long into the future. Perhaps today, bibliomania does not feel like an irrational behaviour, as books have become less venerated and libraries rarer. Rather, as it was for others before us, it is a careful act of preservation for those who come after.”
— Bibliomania: the strange history of compulsive book buying
I'm really looking forward to diving into this one. This looks like one of the best of 2019s books so far! https://www.instagram.com/p/ByBeukHg1g6/?igshid=1x23rnuz811k0
Last picture of my current setup before I’m moving (again). I absolutely love love this view.

Last year, I have to admit, I was not much of a book reader. I didn’t want to find the time, I didn’t have much energy, and I thought I had better things to do. I was collecting them, sure, but the rate of reading them to buying them was far outmatched. I would look up from browsing on…
