So... a couple of new things

First things first a proper intro.

Sup I'm samstudios, but you can just call me Sam. Apparently I'm a dude now... that's been a fun discovery. I play alto saxophone, oboe, and piano. I also draw (duh) and write (maybe y'all can see some of my WIPs in the future). I'm also aroace.

I'm wanting to make this blog into an art blog for personal projects like my webcomic and book I'm writing. This means I'll likely draw less fanart for things.

This blog also probably will stop becoming a place where I reblog random things. This will start to stay as related to art as possible. I'll most likely make another sideblog for my unscheduled randomness in the near(ish) future. This blog will still remain my main blog because this is the blog I care most.

Some do's and don'ts for this blog:

This is a safe space for ALL IDENTITIES

Fandoms:

I'm into Hollow Knight, Rain World, Outer Wilds, and Arcane. I will occasionally draw things for these fandoms. Past fandoms that I've been a part of have been Warrior Cats and The Owl House, and I might also post stuff pertaining to this.

because grace learns eridian from rocky do you think he speaks to people on erid with his little piano/organ/instrument setup and theyre like lol wow. you've got a REALLY strong accent. and grace is like well im an alien, thats to be expected, right? and theyre like no that's not what we mean. it's just... you sound just like rocky :,) it's very cute actually

of course grace is delighted! but it'd be very funny if rocky had just. a massively specific regional accent. and now grace has it too. all the eridians from that area are like OMG THE ALIEN IS ONE OF US - we're adopting it. that's an honorary member of the clan. listen to it. it might as well have grown up here.

...actually i'm gonna do it. fuck it. rocky is space scottish. to me. he's mine now, i'm taking him out to look at the kelpies and the falkirk wheel and climb up ben ledi. he can go fishing in a loch. and now grace's eridian accent is their equivalent of scots. he says stuff to adrian's family (posh motherfuckers) and theyre like 'i think it's trying to communicate with us..?' meanwhile adrian, well used to rocky's accent by now, is like 'it's giving you a compliment. be nice to my spouse's alien, please.'

(adrian is like the dad who doesn't want a cat. theyre like this is my spouse rocky and rocky's... alien friend.. and then like two months later rocky comes in and adrian is letting grace sleep on top of them. he was cold, I couldn't just let him shiver, and rockys like no no beloved you're so right, and secretly rubbing his claws together like yesss just let it happen, grace will win all of erid over at this rate..)

Birthday piece for Kelp!! His birthday was the 13th, and I always had a vision for something like, including colors from his synesthesia. All of those colors are seen in the water bubble.

Kelp is a part of my book, Shaken Earth. He’s never quite felt like he’s belonged anywhere (made only worse by the fact that he is trans, and therefore doesn’t even really belong in his own body), which is why Runaway by Aurora has basically become his anthem to me at this point.

My wrist has been hurting quite a bit but luckily I was able to do a fun drawing Ice and her Spirit Companion, Permafrost. Permafrost (but I just call her Permi/Perm half the time) is a bit of a seeing eye cat for Ice because of how close their connection is. You can basically talk telepathically with your Spirit Companion, so added on to Perm’s training she can also just have a conversation with Ice.

Anyway this is just a redraw of an ai “art” that I thought would be fitting for the two’s relationship.
