Origami Workshop @ Yamamizuki

The place I'm working held a nature school on Saturday so that children and adults could learn about some of the plants that people take for granted in Japan, including some over looked sources of food. After a break for lunch the children were invited to an Origami workshop with a coworker as the teacher. I was luck enough to be around at the time and take some photos of the event.

More Beppu street snaps in black & white, I’m going to miss this town, its covered arcades filled with small shops, people going about their daily lives, these streets are the veins of this town, everything here has its own pace.  

I’d recommend visiting Beppu to anyone who is planning a trip to Japan to unwind.

Aeroplane Travel,

Plane to Hong Kong, plane from Hong Kong to Fukuoka, Hong Kong ground staff outside of plane. 

There’s nothing quite like plane travel its a strange phenomena and its like being in heaven and hell at the same time. so many advantages; Time, Cost, Ease, then again you have to put up with being trapped inside a metal vessel thats flying in the sky thousands of feet above the ground, there may be screaming children on there and you are definitely going to wake up dehydrated (that is if you can sleep). All in all I thought this plane journey was one of the better ones that I have been on. 

Both planes where quiet enough to spread out and relax and I only once heard a kid screaming. I also drank 2 litres of water plus anytime the staff came by with drinks again asked for more water, so at least I didn't die of dehydration either. 

One word of advise is don't walk into a restaurant in Hong Kong airport without checking how much meals are in your own currency, I paid through the nose for two small dishes and a large beer (at this point I’d been awake for nearly 24 hours straight so I wasn't really awake enough to make the calculations.

Shonen Knife were in Leeds on May 1st and I was lucky enough to be there. Had a good time listening to songs new and old, and picked up a ton of Merchandise too.

So Tuesday 29th I travelled down to London and battled with the tube strikes to find my way to 02 Shepherds Bush for Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s concert. I arrived to find a fairly lengthy queue and took my place. These two lovely people we nice to talk to and also their costumes were really cool too. The concert was a haze of Kawaii bopping around and amazement. Kyary was lovely, the show was impressive and I think she did a great job. Shame I couldn’t get many pictures for the sea of smart phones infront of me.

My mum just sent me a picture that was taken of her and some friends 52 years ago. The photo was taken by her friend (aged 11 at the time) using a Brownie camera. It's a wonderful photo. It's made my day.
