My personal theory is that if Media is REALLY good, there isn't really... space, if you will for fans to add or change perspectives on it. Too dense, too complete. Like how coral won't grow on plastic because it's too smooth

Whereas some half-baked hot garbage has got ALL KINDS of plot holes, incomplete characterization, warped timelines, missing worldbuilding and other Spaces for fans to colonize, like coral growing on a sunken battleship.

And then if a series just sucks too much, it's not fun to interact with at all, and people won't fandomize it because it's toxic. Like how coral won't grow on sunken piles of burnt-out tires.

I call this the Fandom Barrier-Reef Theory.

Fanon HyoShun is so funny to me, people tend to make Shun interested in Hyoga first when if ANYONE was pining between those two it’s HYOGA

My guy sees Shun for the first time since they were kids and is impressed by him, even more so when he fights and sees he’s so powerful!

Not only that, but there are so many scenes that can be taken as Hyoga desperately hoping for his crush to notice him!

Meanwhile Shun is clueless and y’know, MOURNING so of course he pays Hyoga’s very obvious crush no mind!

So when Shun almost sacrificed himself to save Hyoga OF COURSE HE WAXES POETIC ABOUT LIFE AND LOVE!!!! His crush has just basically sacrificed himself to save his life!!! So he must love him back right? (Just, no one tell him about Shun’s martyr complex)

I need more pining Hyoga and clueless Shun!

But like, HyoShun’s moment isn’t really the Libra Temple, their moment is in the Scorpio Temple

I mean, That Scene is Iconically Gay ✨ and WITH GOOD REASON, but the Really Gay Scene is their next scene together which is The Scorpio Temple scene where Hyoga professes his love for Shun for all to see for several minutes (a whole ass page in the manga), giving a motivational speech to his friends and deciding “I will use my new life to fight, the life that was given to me by Shun”
