ok I’m up and could have sworn my rant in the tags was longer but I think I hit a limit (whoops)

I think I kept going about the scene that would have been 100% sadness, something about Ritsu, and something about the theme of identity

uhhh I think it ended with me saying that somehow the live action left me with an even greater appreciation for mob psycho as a story. They messed up the events of season one so bad, I’m like dang those arcs really were such a good foundation. Which is insane because I already loved the story/other versions to bits. But now the manga/anime/stage play feel a little more special after witnessing the bad timeline

#mp100 #<- the essay long been submitted but I shall document its impact on my brain one day #Can’t sleep so it’s time to rant #I think I concluded Sadness being the resolution to the starting point of Mob’s progress towards change #It’s built up as repression is done out of fear of himself hurting others (the reason for change and his method of doing so)#But it fails #It fails and hurts so profoundly it’s (I think) the first 100% moment where the emotion isn’t a branch of anger #It’s worded as “Mob’s progress towards explosion” and lashing out in anger is kinda the first assumption given it is more often than not #on the destructive side. But showing another emotion being capable of reaching the same intensity (through this % meter)#just hits ya know?#It’s not just anger that was dialed down it really was everything. Shedding those tears lead to another burst of psychic energy #(Which a literal burst of movement in his hair is seen in the anime. Bless the animator I love that scene)#I mean Dimple did say “you can’t laugh together cry together” The LOL arc really laid down all emotions are locked up #But this really isn’t healthy so yeah Mob fails in his beginning attempts to change #And I want to say 1) as I’ve ranted already it plants the thought in my head that other emotions will be present #(rejection and especially letting gratitude land as a “:0” moment)#2) not as related to the other points(?) but 100% Courage is probably the next step forward in terms of the meter being tied with change #The whole fight with Teru was not using his powers (Mob also expressing he doesn’t want them anymore to Reigen)#But that moment during Mogami arc where he says he can uses his powers to help someone #100% courage in the moment felt like a face the dire/scary situation head on #But also now that I’ve rewatched and thought about it for too long #It was also having the courage to trust himself in openly using them #And I think back to just one season ago he was scared of it hurting others. He honestly still is #Essentially asking “if I wanted to take someone’s life would anyone be there to stop me” but it’s a step in the right direction #Honestly season 2 is filled with those small moments of growth I was surprised my first time watching just how subtle #But very much there his change through growth was #…and you know what the live action did?…#Literally the last line from the narrator is “unpopular guys will never be popular”#not the point and also kinda cemented itself as a “keep the main character static” character journey #Which like🫩 come on…

gotta learn about computers for class but it's actually breaking my old lady brain. I got one tab open with a TED-Ed video about transistors, and an infinitely more appealing tab on making a handkerchief

#I think I'll take a break from hw for tonight because why does this hurt...#I think it's the urge to create but shoving it in the corner instead of indulging that's the problem #but dang it I got work to do >:[
