Last year, global warming reached record high temperatures — and if that news feels like déjà vu, you’re not going crazy.

The planet has now had three consecutive years of record-breaking heat.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has just released its annual State of the Climate report, which says it’s the hottest it has been since scientists started tracking global temperatures in 1880.

A separate analysis, by NASA scientists, came to the same conclusion.

For the past couple years, scientists have been putting solar powered GPS backpacks on a snowy owls. Those backpacks record each owl’s exact location (longitude, latitude, altitude – all accurate down to a couple feet) every thirty minutes.

Thanks to all that new data, scientists were able to learn a lot about the hunting, breeding and migration of a previously mysterious species. And I was able to go on a road trip that traced the exact path of one particular snowy owl: a young male named Baltimore.

I discovered that snowy owls are one of my favorite animals to look at. And if you follow them around, you’re in for some gorgeous vistas. Share my adventure by watching Skunk Bear’s newest video:

Measurements: overall length 35.7 cm

The dagger has a straight, single-edged blade made of damaskus steel. The ivory grip is finely sculpted in the shape of a parrot, the eyes made with rubies with gilt frame, while the iron ring-nut is also gilt and features floral decorations.

The Island Fox is a diminutive and docile fox unique to California’s Channel Islands. In fact, they are the only carnivore unique to California. They are broken up into six subspecies, living on and named after 6 of the 8 Channel Islands.

A new study has revealed that they are unique in another incredible way: they are nearly genetically identical to one another. A lack of genetic diversity can pose serious threats to survival, yet the Island Fox population has been recovering for the last few years (though they are still listed as ‘near threatened’).
