My Protector

My protector, I don’t see you, but I know you are there. This loving warmth in my soul. You make no sound, but I know your loving words. You created me with a single breath and know the entire story of my life. A tragic love story of being human. What is done is done and you watch from afar, like a mother watching her infant take those uneasy steps. The baby falls, just as I do in life. But as the mother, you don’t come to my aid. Lessons are learned and faith must build. Like the baby, I get back up with my own will and continue on. I don’t lose trust or hope that you are there, my soul sings the melody of love to reassure that you are with me. Physically it is impossible to tell, but spiritually the bond is strong. My protector I have never seen you, but I know you are there.
