I'm finally feeling the Spring vibes (though in NC we seem to have skipped to Summer), so here are some cute clay flower earrings. 🌸

A new earrings design ready to go! These will first be available at the pop up event I'll be at on Feb 3rd.
Clay, handpainted and glazed 🥰
With ear wires or post backs.
New, very quick YouTube video today! I've been playing with this glaze I just found and I did a quick tutorial on how to use it and what projects I plan to use it for.
I've been absorbed in new projects today and just realized how late it is 😳 No wonder I feel a little dehydrated and my brain is starting to nap without me. 😆
Anyway... time to put these aside for the night and add more tomorrow!
Chunky crochet scarf for the win.🥰 Cold weather always inspires me to crochet, and I just posted a tutorial for this cute fluffy scarf on my YouTube channel. ❄️⛄️
The Balance Between Light and Dark- mixed media on canvas, by Sandra M. ...
Gathering a few seeds from my back porch garden. 💚
Top- basil
Bottom- morning glory
Working on some creative things. 😁
I'm working on a gameplan for a Patreon page. 🎨💛🌼🎨💛🌼🎨💛🌼🎨💛🌼🎨💛🌼🎨
My main focus will be teaching Creativity; 2D Art yes, among other things, but while helping people who have been discouraged from the arts, finding creative impulses later in life or just wanting to explore many forms of creativity in a safe space.
What sort of projects or topics would you be interested in?
I'm plating with some new stamps and new combinations of materials. Some wins and some fails during the process. Having fun with it 😁
One of my more minimalist pieces. I'm glad I knew when to stop on this one. Still, it feels strange to me when I don't fill in at least 95% of a space. 😆
First ripe tomatoes from our garden!
First ripe tomatoes from our garden!
So yummy!
Last year, I bought some drywall plaster for my art class kids to play with textures and to create some really neat designs on pieces of cardboard. They used random tools to create swirls, lines, swoops, etc. I had a bunch left, so I played around a bit on some old canvases.
The kids painted theirs with acrylics. I experimented with paints as well as alcohol inks. To finish things up, I poured resin over everything to try to seal it and keep anything from breaking off or cracking.
For the most part, the resin has done well. But unfortunately, I have had a few bits break off. Total bummer, but still, I really enjoyed the whole process of making several of these, and I really love how weird and pretty they look.
Tomato progress ☺️❤️
I am in hyperfocus mode with an intense desire to finally finish this piece. She's been in the corner of my workspace for 3 weeks while I adjust to my current schedule at work.
I am also finding that I have this very weird, push-pull feeling about this piece. I really want to work on it, and at the same time, it's a struggle.
If you're an artist, have you had that feeling with any of your art?
My kiddo and I decided to create a small garden on our back porch this year. It's been wonderful having my hands in the dirt again and watching our plants and veggies growing. 💚
Yesterday was the last day of school, which also means no more Art in the Afternoon classes until fall. The change of pace for summer is a needed break, but also bittersweet.
Some of my students won't be back next year and I will miss them so much!
These lovely flowers were a gift from a lovely parent and I will enjoy them very much. 💐
