where are my strattlings at. woman who takes care of everyone from afar. who always makes sure people's contributions get recognized. that people get little birthday celebrations. that there is real food on the vat and coffee preferences on the hail mary because people need little luxuries to live, not just survive, and she wants humanity to live, not just survive. she never looks for recognition for any of it, she is never vocal about it. she's just silently kind in a million small ways. and watches from the outside while everyone reaps the benefits of it

Rewatching and realized that during Sign of the Times, we all hear her singing the lyrics and contextualize it with the knowledge that Grace is sent to space. Just stop your crying, have the time of your life; we can meet again somewhere, somewhere far away from here. But while I'm sure Eva knows in the back of her mind that Grace could be sent to space, it's a far off enough possibility that she wouldn't be thinking about it. If we really want to hear it as *her* in that moment, I think she was thinking more about her being sent to prison for the rest of her life after launch and Grace going on without her. Remember everything will be alright. We can meet again somewhere. Somewhere far away from here.

For the Pressure Point series (which I was an absolute madddd fan of btw huhuhu 😭🫶), it would be so great if you could cook up one chapter about Grace on his last day on Earth.

It would be a little different from the movie, where he voluntarily agrees to go, and Eva Stratt literally bawls her eyes out. Like, full-on sobbing till she gives herself a migraine from crying too much 😭💀

And Grace will be there to comfort her (which atp they both think it would be the last time he could do that for her cuz it's a one way mission). And maybe there could be some moment where she says something like, "You won't be here to comfort me through my next migraine," and it just absolutely destroys everyone because like... you will have to leave forever 🥺

And then the chapter ends with him unexpectedly coming back, and coincidentally it's on a day when Stratt has a migraine again. She's suffering, miserable, and then suddenly he's there. And he can finally comfort her again 😭🫶 (my babies deserve happiness!!!)

And maybe some spicy scenes too, which is completely up to you at this point 🫣✨

I do already have my own ending cooked up for the Pressure Points series, which I think you guys will love just as much! As fun as it would be to break you all with this ending ;) I do already have a large majority of the ending written for whenever I'm done with other prompts.

Perhaps as an AU ending to it, someday I'll write this, I can imagine some dialogue for it already! But for now I'm going to stick with what I have written for the main ending :)

Eva drifted to consciousness, slow, warm. Then she came aware of the arm around her, heavy with sleep, and she smiled, remembering.

She shifted until she lay nuzzled into Ryland’s chest, nose buried in his shoulder, feeling his heartbeat vibrate through her until hers matched the rhythm, a synchronized dance more tender than poetry, more intimate than song.

He stretched, yawned as he came awake. “Are we late?”

She shook her head. “New Year’s off, remember?”

“Right. Our Supreme Leader ordered it.”

“Then go back to sleep.”

“Yes ma’am,” he whispered, voice already fading.

She followed him, back into dreams.
