The Helloween tag here is looking kinda barren so I will write out some things that happened at the concert I went to a few days ago! I miss them so much :,)

(Also, if you're one of my followers then I apologize but for the past few months I've been hyperfixated on a bunch of old men. Do excuse my brain.)

- Before the live started, I managed to get a glimpse of Michi and Markus on the side of the stage and I literally gasped. I was so excited 😭

- Markus was the first to come out on stage and before he started playing he comically pretended to scratch his ass.

- When he came on stage, Michi pointed to the crowd and I screamed.

- Hearing Andi and Michi duet live was a spiritual experience, man. They're so cute with how they sing at each other most the time.

- During King for 1000 Years, after Andi sung "executions!" he did a gesture like hanging himself and my friend who was a bit further back said that anyone around her who wasn't sold on the live yet at that point was instantly into it after that.

- While on the subject of Andi's gestures, my friend was incredibly entertained by them lol I've watched a million Helloween live videos already so I've gotten used to them but they really are so funny.

- When Michi and Andi were doing their silly, over-the-top preparing to duet, some girls behind me yelled (in romanian) "THEY'RE GONNA KISS!" "NO, THEY'RE NOT KISSING!" "YES THEY ARE!" and I got that on video. Absolute legends.

- The singers' banter between songs was so funny. Andi mentioned how this is the first time this festival is being held in this location and Michi interrupted him with "So we're like virgins." Andi looked so offended LMAO

- The crowd interaction during Future World was so good!!! In other live shows they'd be like "No, no, you can be louder, that wasn't enough" but here they instantly went "That was good. I can't complain" (this is my evidence for why they should come back to Romania as soon as possible)

- Michi and Kai (especially Kai) kept coming up to our side of the crowd and I had to lose my shit every time.

- The pyrotechnics duing We Burn feel SO HOT??? I did not realise that even with the stage ~2m away, my face would still feel like it's melting off. The girl in front of me had to reel her head back every time the flames came up 😭

- Also Sascha's backing vocals were so loud in that song. Always a treat to hear his voice <3

- Speaking of Sascha, every time he stepped on one of the little platforms in the front of the stage I was just thinking "You do not need those, Sascha. Save them for the little guys (Kai)."

- I was so sure that I'd cry during Into the Sun but I was either too dehydrated or too excited. The song was soooo beautiful to hear, though.

- Even after a year of touring with this song, Michi still fumbles the lyrics to Universe ❤️ This time he only switched around some lyrics and didn't actually mess up anything but it was funny to see. There's just something about this song, neither Michi nor Kai can fully learn it, ever.

- Dani's drum solo was SO COOL to hear live. This is probably common knowledge to people who have gone to live shows, but you can literally feel the drums in your soul. He also yelled out "ROMANIA!" and that made me pretty happy lol

- Andi and Michi hugged during I Want Out :,) I actually didn't see it live but noticed it on my videos. Their friendship is so sweet. Me when I love my bro so much I need to hug him mid song.

- "We do some slow songs, now. Thirty five Elvis Presley tunes, no matter if you like it or not."

- Michi started playing Suspicious Minds but said "Because I love you too much, Andi" and Andi went "WHOA! You got the wrong impression."

- The instant Michi started singing A tale that wasn't right, you could hear the entire crowd go WOOOOW

- Singing Heavy metal is the law with Kai was a literal dream come true, bro. I have been looking forward to this for months, and it was so so so so fun. I screeched so hard, I was surprised I could still talk the next day.

- Sascha loooves twirling. During the whole live you can just randomly see him spinning like a top lol

- I sung along to almost ALL of Power, too 😭 My mouth was dry as fuck and tired as fuck but this was one of the songs I was looking forward to the most. I don't think anything can beat that experience.

- During Power Weiki is so active. He loves dancing along to it, especially the chorus. At one point Sascha joined in too for a second.

- People LOVE to crowd surf during Dr. Stein. I always thought it was such a silly song to crowd surf to, but I love it. They love doing it during I Want Out, as well.

- They also released the balloons during Dr. Stein and everyone wanted to bump them up. Between that and having to duck every time a crowd surfer came I was just there like "Please guys I just want to see the band" lol

- Kai tripped during Keeper of the Seven Keys and I got it on camera LMAO

- These mfs CANNOT have a normal end of live bow. Weiki and Michi were both late and Andi had to call them out. Both their bows were so goofy, too. Michi stiffened himself up and had a silly expression on his face while Weiki kept bowing his head even after everyone else scattered.

- And now, the icing on the cake... I got a guitar pick handed to me by Kai Hansen :,) He came up to the railing to give out picks, I held out my hand and he nestled one directly into my palm. I think I was standing there, mouth agape, holding that pick for dear life close to my chest, for a good 5 minutes. And I did not recover until after we got to the hotel. Honestly, I don't think I'll ever recover. I cannot fucking believe I touched Kai's hand. In my first concert ever, no less!!! 😭😭😭 He made an autistic girl the happiest person in the world that day.

Unidos en la Gloria y en la Muerte - Guilty Gear II Overture

I'm not a big fan of the Overture game, but I'd be lying if I said it doesn't have some of the coolest ideas (starting with Valentine). So, I wanted to give it a drawing. This piece is based on the sculpture Unidos en la Gloria y en la Muerte by Rebeca Matte

I'll copy-paste what I wrote on my Patreon if you want to read some of the thoughts and the drawing process. I really had a lot of fun doing this piece!!!!

Ky and Sin are father and son. Sin is the result of the forbidden love between a human and a gear (basically biological weapons), which caused an immense distress in Ky, for what he kept his wife Dizzy and Sin a secret in order to protect them. Ky always fought to be righteous and questioned his own judgement for the wellbeing of others. He knew what he was doing was against everything, and more when he became the third king of Illyria and all eyes were on him; to which he only was a mere puppet of the Conclave. Ashamed, Ky had to take the hard decision to give his son to Sol, hoping he would take care of him, better than he could. Ky never faced Sin, not after what he had done to him. In the end, Ky was a prisoner of his weak heart.

On the other hand, Sin grew resentful of Ky. He never understood why Ky rejected him so much, and why he fought so hard for unknown people but never cared enough for his own family. His resentment was such that he only considered Sol his father, as he confessed it to Ky. Despite all, Sin still cared for him, because he knew there was a reason why Dizzy, his mother, still considered Ky a valuable family member, so he stood close to him so Ky could prove his own worth as a father.

I don't mean to say Ky is Daedalus and Sin is Icarus, but more about how the story can be interpreted in how a father's decision can lead to a son's resentment and trauma. Daedalus became a prisoner due to his actions, Icarus was simply dragged by it. So, even if Sin could fit perfectly in Icarus' role, it's more about how Ky sees Sin suffering the consequences of his actions and yet fighting to become someone on his own, far from what was his mistakes. Ky loves Sin, but he knew that he was uncapable of being a good father as the circumstances were implied, so in order to free his son from his cell he had to let him go.

"Unidos en la gloria y en la muerte" (united in glory and death) from Rebecca Matte is a sculpture that's been with me my whole life. Anytime I visited my grandma, my mother and I had to walk in front of the Bellas Artes Museum, where the statue is. She would tell me the story about Daedalus and Icarus, and I remember myself finding strange why Icarus had to be prisoner with his father. But even if I find it still unfair for Icarus, and now that I continue to walk in front of the same statue decades later, I can empathize with Daedalus and how he tried to save both of them for the mistake he committed. Seeing now Daedalus' expression, how sad and frustrated he looks, explains how much he regretted it.

And that's what I find so fascinating in Ky and Sin's story. They're not conventionally father and son, even when Sin finally recognizes Ky as his father, and eventually moves together, Sin already has his own freedom that could only gain when Ky let him go. And their relationship is slowly growing stronger, yay!

Also there's this theme in Guilty Gear Xrd Sign titled Icarus that I highly recommend to listen, it's a nice song and I always think about Sin for no reason, idk Sin as Icarus is so appealing to me, I have so many ideas with this aaaaaaaa.
