Oh, it wasn’t a real relationship either way so that’s no concern to me. He was a little bit of a brute but he didn’t do anything to me personally. He had more issues with my brother, actually. Joffrey’s just the type of boy who likes to torment people. Mhm, he’s quite enamored with her actually. I doubt she’s noticed.

Perhaps he’s different now. Older, wiser -- willing to settle down, and treat people with kindness. Or at least his lady and her family. Not that you weren’t worthy of the same thing, of course, but people can change. I can’t believe I haven’t noticed! Oh, who is he? I’ll have to keep an eye out from now on!

He’s a snake with blue eyes, so to speak. Oh, sweet girl. Joffrey and I were… well, we were acquainted because of our parents. It was a short-lived romance if anything, but he was hot-tempered enough that he and my brother got into a bit of a scuffle. She just needs to grow into her hobbies, that’s all. I’ve got it on good word that she has something of an admirer, actually.

You did? I’m so sorry, Margaery, I had no idea. Was he not a good beau to you? Did your brother have to step in to defend your honor? Arya? An admirer? You must be mistaken.

I suppose you could call him that. Mm, that depends on who you ask. He has quite a reputation for cruelty, Sansa. I know that he may seem… sweet, but my brother’s had many an experience with him.  It’s endearing, in a way. I used to love riding just as much as she seems to.

He has? he hides it so well. What has he done? Did he have some reason to have quarrel with your brother before his actions? Endearing isn’t the e word that I might have chosen, but I’m sure even Aria would take your version as a compliment. Although it might border too close to the word cute for her tastes, I know how she feels about that.

And that’s what you want? To be Joffrey’s girlfriend? To be entirely honest, I’ve heard a lot about it. So much, in fact, that I would go so far as to say that you’re becoming a household name. I’d like to consider us to be friends, Sansa. From one woman to another, you could do far better than Joffrey.  Arya, wasn’t it? I remember her- she’s that fourth year who was caught hexing Joffrey a few weeks ago, wasn’t she?

Oh, absolutely! Isn’t he so handsome? And chivalrous, too, though you wouldn’t think it until he turns his attentions towards you. Merlin, am I? I hope that’s a good thing. I know it is when people talk about you in the Stark household, but not all of us are so wonderful as you are. I’d like for us to be be friends as well, Margaery. Are you certain? May I ask what he’ done to warrant such a comment? Though it’s tempting to deny it, yes, that’s her.

Is that so? I was under the impression that you and Joffrey were something of an item. That’s what I’ve been told, at least. Well, that’s kind of archaic for my tastes but to each her own. Cersei addresses a lot of things in her lectures, Sansa. It’s difficult to pay attention to everything she says. Loras is pretty agreeable, isn’t he? A Hufflepuff down to the bone.

It’s rather new; I was waiting to see if he’d invite me to accompany him to the Slug Club dinner before I asked if we were an official item yet. Are people really talking about us? I’m flattered that they find me that interesting. I suppose if things continue to go well I’ll meet her on holiday and then we can swap stories. Oh, yes, the best of them all! You’re so lucky to have siblings you get along with so well. My sister is a bit of trouble at times.

Just be glad that he’s one of the more patient ones. As someone who’s also endured a stay at the Lannister household over the last break, I can confidently say that anything’s a step up from one of Cersei’s lectures on the importance of punctuality. Oh, nonsense. I’m sure that’s just an exaggeration- you can have your pick from anything in there. We haven’t spoken to each other nearly enough, Sansa. Unless I’m mistaken, I was under the impression that you’re relatively friendly with my brother?

I haven’t had the pleasure of being a close enough acquaintance of the Lannister family to visit their household, but I’m told it’s beautiful, even if Lady Cersei can be quite fearsome. That’s quite interesting, though, as I’ve heard plenty of older girls say that you must always keep a man waiting, so that you never seem too eager to be his date for the evening; did Lady Cersei address that at all in her lecture? I like to think so. I’ve only good things to say about him; it would please me greatly to know he felt the same about me.

You’ll grow accustomed to it with time. His whims are always a little inconvenient to everyone in the club. I have some clothes I could lend you, if you’d like. They might be a little short on you but I’m sure you’d look radiant in any one of them. It would also give us an opportunity to get to know each other a little better. Would you like that, Sansa?

I know a lady must be ready to welcome visitors on a moment’s notice, so I suppose it’s good practice for after school, but I’d still prefer to have had more time to make a good impression. Really? If you don’t mind terribly, I’d love to at least look and see if there’s something that might look good on me. I’ve heard your wardrobe is something to be envied, and I’d quite like to get to know someone who I’ve both Slug Club and Prefect duties in common with.

Can you believe Professor Slughorn, springing a last minute Slug Club dinner on us for this weekend when I haven’t got a thing to wear? It isn’t even a Hogsmeade weekend, and I’ve too much homework to sew something new. I suppose I’ll just have to resort to borrowing, if anyone would be willing to lend me something for the occasion.
