“Do you mind giving me a hand? I’m just getting a little overwhelmed with the people.” Safiye admitted, she continued to pour water into the recyclable cups that were in front of her. The minute she got one down someone was grabbing it. She hadn’t expected the refreshment stand to actually be this busy, but here she was drowning. “Shit—” she cursed as dropped the pitcher of water she had when someone went to grab the cup that was in her hands. “This is chaos.”

There were plenty of things which brought a smile to her lips when she tended to find joy in almost everything but today her grin shone even more brightly. She was just endlessly happy that her event seemed to be a success with so many people showing up to help out and there was a spring in her step as she approached one volunteer with a shirt in hand. “One Beach Clean Up t-shirt just for you.” Tone was bright as she held it out to them. “Couldn’t get my hands on an red ones quickly but I think pink is definitely your colour.”

“I’d be curious to know the percentages of people who watch the Super Bowl for the football and who just watch so they can see all the commercials and movie trailers.” Logan wasn’t a football fanatic, per se, but he did enjoy the occasional sporting event, so he was by far a mixture of both.

Dana looked around at the different pairs dancing to the music. To say she was nervous was an understatement. Dana wasn’t a natural dancer. She wasn’t horrible but at the same time, she was no where near great. She bit her lip as she continued to watch. “Can’t believe I decided to do this.” she said to the person standing next to her. “Here I was telling myself to branch out and try something new and different and yet here I am just standing on the sidelines.”

Caroline peaked into the room before finally stepping. Clearly the class had started as she seen people moving across the floor and the last thing she wasn’t to do was interrupt the and make some sort of scene.. She noticed someone standing on the sidelines and walked over to them before placing her stuff on the ground and against the wall. “So are you here because everyone else was paired up, making you the odd man out or are you just not a dance person and observing.” she grinned.

“Hey… don’t mean to be a pain in the ass, but is there any chance you can grab that bag for me?” Honestly, it was a miracle that Josh had even made it down as far as where his boat was docked, but as for getting things onto the actual boat or down the jetty —- he wasn’t having much luck. “I really need to stop trying to carry so much down here,” he added with a roll of his eyes.

Red manicured nails tapped against the wooden table as light eyes scanned the room. So many others had arrived and began their sessions in groups, laughing and commenting on the wines they were provided with. A breath blew from her lips as Rebekah waited impatiently; her phone being pulled out, Rebekah sent a quick text before she realized her person she was to meet had approached the table. “Listen, I don’t care why you’re late, I’m just happy people aren’t staring at me with those pity eyes they give girls who get stood up.”

Veronica threw on her jacket and grabbed her bag as she rushed out the door. She was running late yet again, but what else was new? She started walking down the street, unfortunately having to rely on her own two feet since her car was in the shop. As she walked by at a brisk pace, she was unable to stop in her tracks and the momentum carried her into another person. Veronica reached out to steady them and then noticed they dropped something on the ground as they collided. “Oh my God, I’m so sorry. Here. Let me get that,” she said, leaning down to pick up the item. She glanced at it to make sure it wasn’t broken and then handed it back to them. “Are you okay?”

Sawyer usually had lunch out, regardless of where she was working that day. Whilst most her colleagues knew that Sawyer didn’t like to socialise at work she still avoided eating lunch with them just in case someone attempted to strike up a conversation with her. Standing in line at a little bistro Sawyer’s attention was mostly fixed on her phone as she replied to work emails. Her attention might have been fixed on the screen but she still noticed the person who cut in front of her. “Unless you intend on buying me my lunch and coffee I suggest you get to the back of the line.”

“Sorry, did you say something?” Holly was pretty sure she was about to drop to sleep in her ice-cream, so when she’d heard a voice, she had to snap herself from her revere —- no idea if they’d even been talking to her anyway,

Sam wasn’t one to eavesdrop people like that, or even spend too much time of her day just people watching, but things have been slow on the shop that day and she was bored out of her mind. She was just sipping from her tea when she just witnessed the best scene of her life. “Oh buddy…” she started, walking tot he person that almost fell on their ass trying really hard not to laugh at it. “Are you okay there?”

Taking a brief jog through Ocean View Park was a daily routine for Rebekah Danvers - always accompanied by her pitbull, Frenchie. With it being almost sixty degree weather, Rebekah sported a light pull up running hoodie with dark capri leggings. Apple Airpods in her ear, the woman was pretty much drowned from the world as she listened to the latest episode of yet another self-help podcast. She took a stop at the nearest water fountain to take a quick break; it fell short when Frenchie pulled at her leash, forcing Rebekah to let go. 

“Frenchie!” Running after her beloved canine, the woman continued to call out for her dog to stop.

Where: Lucky’s Bar & Grill

What: Karaoke Night

Elijah wasn’t big on singing in public. It wasn’t like he had stage fright, he just hated singing in public and had bad experience with it back in college. Part of him wanted to bolt, but the other part of him knew that he needed to meet new people and expand his horizons. He ordered himself a drink, prayed for liquid luck and glanced around the place. It wasn’t all that bad, actually.  It wasn’t like he was trying out for American Idol and Simon Cowell was in the audience, judging him.  Once he got his drink, he sat down at an empty table and watched as people sang. Then he saw someone in the corner of his eye and took a sip of his drink. “You can sit with me, I don’t bite.” He replied as he looked at the person then back at the stage.

Sophie didn’t intend for the afternoon to end this way, but that was often the case. Things seemed to upset Sophie’s schedule on a regular basis, it was like she was a character written by an incredibly indecisive author. The battery on her hearing aid had run out so she reached in her bag for a new one. She pulled out the small bag and unzipped it, cursing herself when she saw that the packet only contained one more battery. A moment of fumbling later and the battery as rolling across the pavement, “fuck!” she exclaimed, moving towards it as quickly as she could before it stopped near another person’s feet. “I’m sorry but I dropped something and it’s right by your feet, do you mind?” she asked. Sophie made sure to look at the person as she spoke, anticipating the need to half lip read their answer, with only one hearing aid in Sophie knew it’d be tricky to hear in the busy place.

It had always been a challenge to keep Gabriel’s attention but incredibly easy to catch it. There was a fickleness about him which meant that somehow his gaze always got drawn to what he considered the most exciting or entertaining thing in a room. The only person exempt from this treatment was his son when he always considered the young boy the best focus for his attention. Currently his attention was fixed on a couple having a blazing domestic in the middle of the street. There was an undeniable look of amusement on his face as he watched the scene unfold, unable to keep himself from snickering slightly as the insults grew louder. Shifting in his seat slightly, he leaned closer to no one in particular before speaking. “You think they get off on the attention? They gotta know that everyone’s zoning in on them.”

When a night out had been suggested to him, he had been hesitant to say yes when it felt like his whole life at the moment was a mixture between the gym, his mom and hitting up some bar so he wasn’t sat home alone. But he’d made a promise and if nothing else he was true to his word. Except what he had counted on was a quiet night tucked away in a corner somewhere and instead had been greeted by the full on extravaganza that was karaoke night. Two drinks in and he had yet to feel himself finding any enjoyment in it. After a particularly poor rendition of Total Eclipse of the Heart he found himself reaching for his beer again, only to find it finished. Slight shake of his head was given before he muttered to himself as he turned to catch the bartender’s attention. “I need another drink for this.”
