[SPOILERS] The fact that Alicent almost got raped is mad crazy... what is Ryan's problem with her? They made her kiss her own son and later on she will kiss Rhaenyra too. Watching HOTD (house of the dragon) is basically seeing another whole different story in comparison to the book, it's not worth watching if you're a book fan and expect things to go in the same way, but the actors are phenomenal !! I'm watching it just for them tbh.

Is Young Griff really Aegon Targaryen?

Young Griff is a young man with Valyrian origins claiming to be the believed dead son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Elia Martell.

He told Tyrion Lannister the story of how he 'supposedly' survived; the baby killed during the Sack of King's Landing was the son of a tanner born at Pisswater Bend, a street of King's Landing. The child's mother had died giving birth to him. The tanner sold his son to Varys for a jug of wine, since he already had other sons. Varys arranged the swap between the two children. Elia received the tanner's son, while Varys took custody of the real Prince Aegon.

He even said: "Daenerys is Prince Rhaegar's sister, but I am Rhaegar's son. I am the only dragon you need."

Jon Connington: "Spoken boldly, but think what you are saying."

Griff/Aegon: "I have. Why should I go running to my aunt as if I were a beggar? My claim is better than her own. Let her come to me ... in Westeros."

When the "fake" son died by the hands of Gregor Clegane, Varys smuggled the real Aegon across the narrow sea, where he was first entrusted to Illyrio Mopatis and later to the exiled Lord Jon Connington, a friend of Aegon's father.

Some theories say that he's actually a Blackfyre bastard, Illyrio Mopatis provided massive financial backing to Young Griff and he had no political reason to risk his life and fortune for a Targaryen. He mentioned that his late wife, Serra, had Valyrian features. Some suggest that Serra was a Blackfyre descendant, making Young Griff Illyrio and Serra's biological son, or that during Daenerys' visions in the House of the Undying, she was warned to "beware the mummer’s dragon". Varys was a mummer (actor) in his youth. A "mummer's dragon" is interpreted as a fake dragon, being a direct metaphor for a false Targaryen.

Even some people don't believe that he's actually Aegon Targaryen.

Arianne Martell: Could this truly be Prince Aegon?

Daemon Sand: If Lord Connington's prince has a crushed skull, I will believe that Aegon Targaryen has returned from the grave. Elsewise, no. This is some feigned boy, no more. A sellsword's ploy to win support.

At first Tyrion too suspected his origins, because of this phrase:

"Black or red, a dragon is a dragon. ... You meet so few men who value friendship over gold these days." said Illyrio Mopatis.

But all the Blackfyres were killed, how is it possible that he's a Blackfyre? The Blackfyre's line was ended when Barristan Selmy killed Maelys the Monstrous. However, Illyrio Mopatis explicitly noted that the Blackfyres died out "in the male line", leaving the female line alive.

The Golden Company was founded by Aegor Rivers "Bittersteel", specifically to seat a Blackfyre on the Iron Throne. They've fought multiple wars against the Targaryens, it makes no sense for them to suddenly support a Targaryen (Aegon), unless Young Griff is actually one of their own.

In my opinion, i think he's a Blackfyre, but who knows? Maybe George will reveal it one day.

Who has a better claim to the Iron Throne between Jon and Daenerys?

In the show it's revealed that Jon is the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen, but in the book his parents are still unknown.

Some say that it's hinted that his parents are still Lyanna and Rhaegar, so let's follow this logic.

Rhaegar, being the first born son of King Aerys II and Queen Rhaella, was the rightful heir to the Iron Throne, but he died before he could've ascended the throne. His two confirmed legitimate children were Aegon and Rhaenys made with Elia Martell, but both were killed at 3 and 1 years old along their mother.

He "supposedly" had another child with Lyanna Stark, Jon Snow. But when they had Jon, Rhaegar was still married to Elia and the Faith of the Seven would've not allowed him to marry another woman when he already had two children, so even if Jon is Rhaegar's son, he's still a bastard, and when he joined the night's watch he gave up his name and roles too.

Daenerys is the youngest child of King Aerys II and Queen Rhaella and the last surviving Targaryen (excluding Jon). Unlike Jon, Daenerys is legitimate, which means she has a major claim to the Iron Throne meanwhile Jon has none since he's a bastard.

I think, within a fictional context, those boys were Harwin's. You HAVE to take genetics out of it and look at what the story is telling you. I think there is a reason that no defence was ever made, even by those that insisted on Laenor being the father, looking at the appearances of Rhaenys, or of Baratheons or of Arryns or whatever. Rhaenys had silver hair in one of the books: no alteration was made to the argument. She had black hair in the other. But the boys always had brown hair, and brown eyes. In GRRM's world, the difference between brown and black matters.

Any talk of the Baratheon seed being strong is disrupted by the fact that it wasn't strong enough for Rhaenys to favour her mother fully, always having had purple eyes, and for her children, neither of whom had any non-Valyrian features. Rhaenys is described having a Targaryen beauty, which she passed on to Laena. She is firmly Valyrian, whatever hair colour she has.

The boys are not. We can quibble about Arryns. We can mention Harwin wasn't described. But the boys are described with only features that cannot come from either Rhaenyra or Laenor and do not have any concrete evidence to come from a close family member.

The comment section of that post was open for exactly those kind of comments, there was no need to write this anonymously since there's nothing to be ashamed of! I'll try to reply to every point you expressed.

Genetics take a BIG role actually, because in the show Laenor was black and it was obvious that the boys weren't his since they were fair-skinned and not mixed. Rhaenys had silver hair too unlike the book so the boys having brown hair was strange since NONE of their relatives had dark hair. Without hearing the story you could've understood that the boys were Harwin's and not Laenor's.

Baratheon's genes being strong doesn't mean that someone who has their blood is supposed to have ALL of the typical features, they were strong enough to make Rhaenys dark-haired like her Baratheon mother and not silver-haired like her Valyrian (Targaryen) father. "She is firmly Valyrian whatever hair color she has" her mother was a Baratheon though? Like her grandfather and so on, she didn't have only Valyrian blood in her but also the one of the First Men, and "whatever hair color she has" doesn't make sense, the Valyrians were described to have silver hair, pale skin and violet/purple eyes, so her being dark-haired means she didn't have only Valyrian blood in her.

"The boys are not" let's remember that their mother was a Targaryen. Rhaenyra's father was a Targaryen from both his father's and mother's side, meanwhile Rhaenyra's mother was a Targaryen from her mother's side, so they still had Valyrian blood nonetheless of who their father was.

"But the boys are described with only features that cannot come from either Rhaenyra or Laenor" this phrase feels like you're doubting about if Rhaenyra was really their mother or not lol, but anyway i think you haven't read my post fully, i mentioned MANY relatives of the boys that had dark hair which increased the probability of them being legitimate, and i said that the typical Baratheon noses aren't described anywhere, so how do you know that they haven't taken their pug noses from their Baratheon genes? Both House Baratheon and House Strong had the blood of the First Men, so it's possible that House Baratheon members had pug noses too🤷🏻‍♀️

What does Rhaenys' eye color have to do with this? I just mentioned her hair color. Black + silver can make brown hair. And they're still related to Rhaenys through Rhaenyra

Were Rhaenyra's sons bastards?

In the series, it clearly shows that Jacaerys, Lucerys and Joffrey are Ser Harwin Strong sons and it's quite obvious too thanks to their appearances.

Meanwhile in the book, it wasn't confirmed. Rhaenyra and Laenor were in a loveless arranged marriage but they made a mutual understanding to fulfill their dynastic duties by generating heirs, after which they would be free to pursue their own separate lives and romantic partners.

The Velaryons (Laenor, Laena, Corlys, etc..) unlike the show, had the typical Valyrian features (violet/purple eyes, pale skin, silver hair) so their children being fair skinned instead of being mixed had sense, but where did the dark hair came from?

Their grandmother, Rhaenys Targaryen (Laenor's mother) had dark hair, not silver. Their great grandmother, Jocelyn Baratheon, had dark hair too, also their great-great-uncle (Jocelyn brother) Boremund Baratheon, their great-great grandfather Rogar Baratheon, their great grandmother who was from House Royce and so on. Jon Arryn on his deathbed said that "the seed is strong" referring to the Baratheon genes.

The Targaryens (also the Arryns and the Velaryons) were described to have aquiline noses most of the times, but the boys were described to have pug noses. House Strong members were described to have pug noses, but House Baratheon typical noses aren't described anywhere, so maybe there's a possibility that they got them from their Baratheon genes?

What about their eye color? Their great grandmother was from House Royce, a house who descended from the First Men, who primarily had blue, black, grey and dark brown eye colors. Or from their presumed father Harwin Strong.

So what do you guys think? 🤷🏻‍♀️

HOTD/fire & blood HOT TAKES!!

Shipping Aemond and Luke is weird and doesn't make sense. I know incest is 'normalized' in this community, but it doesn't mean that is normal, why create new incestuos relationships when we already have enough canon ones? And shipping a victim with his killer? you guys have twisted minds. I'm not homophobic let me be clear about that, one of my favorites ship/couple is Rhaenyra and Laena.

Calling Rhaenyra a wh*re for having "supposedly" three bastards is just misogynistic. The Velaryon siblings being bastards is not confirmed, and even if they were? Rhaenyra and Laenor were in an arranged marriage and they didn't love each other, Laenor was gay too, so they agreed to have an 'open' relationship.

Supporting Daemon x Rhaenyra and Aemond x Alys (i swear every ship with Aemond is toxic) is weird too, both were extremely toxic relationships even thought they were in two whole different situations.

Hating on the actors just because you don't like their characters is CRAZY, it's not their fault!! For example photoshopping Emma D'Arcy to make her look fat while she's eating fast food (and let me remind you that Rhaenyra was chubby because of her pregnancies), hating on Olivia Cooke so bad that she had to deactivate her instagram account and insulting Pearl Clark (Jaehaera second actress, A CHILD!!) just because she's older than book Jaehaera.

HOTD season 3 leaks review

In honor of season 3 of House of the dragon (the premiere is on Sunday, the 21st at 9 pm on HBO Max) we're gonna review the current leaks! [WARNING] this post contains spoilers from both the show and the book.

EP 1 : Rhaena claims Sheepstealer, when in the book Rhaena's dragon is Morning and Nettles was the one who claimed Sheepstealer. I would have loved seeing Morning in the show, it's a pink colored dragon who i think fits Rhaena perfectly.

Alys Rivers confirms she's a witch, this fact is discutibile. In the book, some sources like Daemon Targaryen and Mushroom claimed that Alys was indeed a witch, but nothing is confirmed. Aemond killed her whole family and took her into his bed as "a prize of war", it's implied that at least at first, the relationship wasn't consensual. If she really was a witch, she could've killed Aemond easily, but she didn't.

Aemond and Alicent kiss. This thing is absolutely disturbing, we know that incest is normal among Targaryens, but son x mother? that's even more disgusting. When Aemond kissed Alicent she looked horrified, obviously. I don't know why they added this thing but it makes Aemond even more twisted that he already is.

Corlys is missing after the battle of the gullet. I don't know what to say honestly, where did he go? in the book he survived the battle, though he suffered tremendous losses. During the conflict, his domain of Driftmark was sacked and Spicetown was burned to the ground, destroying a massive portion of the Velaryon treasury, he even said: "If this be victory, I pray I never win another."

Jacaerys locks Rhaenyra in her chambers (before the battle of the gullet). This never happened in the book too, but i like this addition, it shows the love that Jace had for his mother, wanting to keep her safe.

Jacaerys dies. Yes, he dies like in the book unfortunately but for different reasons. In the book when trying to locate and rescue his younger brother, Viserys, his dragon, Vermax, was hit with grappling hooks from Triarchy ships and crashed into the sea. After he leaped free from the saddle, Jace clung to drifting wreckage but was shot to death by enemy crossbowmen and swallowed by the ocean. killing him in the first episode is a low blow...

Maybe we meet Daeron? it's not confirmed that's him, but let's hope!!

Aemond announces himself as King so everyone thinks Aegon is dead. Aegon is still with Larys after they escaped kingslanding. Book Aemond was loyal to his brother, he never burned him with Vhagar. This show is already a mess so why add this thing? it's like it's no longer team green vs team black but Aegon vs Aemond and Rhaenyra x Alicent...

The Starks join Daemon and the Tullys in battle. This never happened in the book, Lord Cregan Stark marched south with a fresh army. However, he arrived in King's Landing after the Battle of the Kingsroad was over and King Aegon II was already been poisoned. Meanwhile the Tullys formally entered the war at the very end of the conflict, after Ser Addam of Hull flew to Riverrun on his dragon. Daemon was already long gone by then.

Those are the main things that happens in Ep 1!!, now let's see the most generic ones (or rumors)

Alicent and Rhaenyra kiss. If we're talking about the book, this thing is absolutely atrocious and both would rather die than kiss each other, but if we're talking about the show, it makes sense (and it's not as bad as the kiss with Aemond). Their relationship had romantic undertones from the start so i'm not really surprised.

Rhaenyra invites Alicent in her council. Ok yeah that's just a stupid move and Book Rhaenyra would spit in the face of whoever invented this. Why would she even do that?

Helaena is giving birth/that's not Helaena. Honestly i think that Helaena will give birth to Maelor, it can't be a flashback of the birth of the twins because they would have used the old actress of Helaena, not Phia. I think Maelor is still Aegon's son even in the series since the time skip between season 2 and season 3 is just of a couple of weeks and Aegon was burned not long ago. But why isn't the pregnant belly visible in any of the scenes in season 2? I'm very curious about this fact, but a part of me doesn't want Maelor to be included in the story. They introduced him too late, he's supposed to be already 3 years old, and his death was already brutal as it is, imagine the same scene but with a new born baby.

Ormund Hightower tricks Daemon by sending an impostor instead of the real Prince Daeron. Ormund is a smart man, i think this will probably happen in the show.

Did Daemon Targaryen really had a romantic relationship with Nettles?

Daemon Targaryen, the rogue Prince, is a well known ped*phile among the community for having s*x with his niece Rhaenyra Targaryen while she was only 14/15 years old, who later became his wife (even though she was consensual, it's still a horrible thing).

Nettles was a young dragonseed (16 years old) who claimed Sheepstealer, by feeding it a sheep every day. Her origins are unknown but it's possible that she was a Targaryen bastard since only those with Valyrian blood can claim dragons.

During the war, in 130 AC, the Prince and the dragonseed based themselves at Maidenpool, they used the castle as a staging ground to hunt down the Prince Aemond Targaryen and his dragon, Vhagar. They remained at the castle as guests of Lord Manfryd Mooton for about 4 months, and during their stay, some stated that their relationship was pretty close.

Mushroom (an unreliable source, known for inventing things and exaggerating them) said that Daemon fell for the girl and took her into his bed, shared it too and openly bathed together.

Mysaria, stated too that the two had a romantic relationship, but she had a deep resentment and jealousy towards Nettles, driven by a possessive attachment to Daemon (since they were lovers and Mysaria was pregnant with his child, but later had a miscarriage) she couldn't tollerate a low born girl winning his genuine affection and care. Since she wanted her gone, she manipulated Queen Rhaenyra into believing that Daemon actually had a romantic relationship with Nettles.

Meanwhile Maester Norren, who was at Maidenpool too during the stay of the two unlike Mysaria and Mushroom, stated that their relationship was strictly a paternal bond, he said that he doted upon the girl "as a man might dote upon his daughter", that he gave her fine gifts, like an ivory handled hairbrush, a silvered looking glass and a velvet cloak, he even taught her basic courtesies, how to brush her hair and dress, and that the two supped and broke their fast together daily and slept in adjoining bedchambers.

Maidservants too noted that Daemon and Nettles often shared a bath, with Daemon soaping her back and washing the "dragon stink" from her hair.

After a while, Queen Rhaenyra grew paranoid of Nettles (since two dragonseeds had just betrayed her) and sent a secret letter to Lord Manfryd Mooton ordering him to bring her Nettles' head, but Maester Norren advised the Lord to pretend they never received the letter and to show it to Daemon instead. Daemon immediately recognized the Queen's orders as the work of Mysaria's rumors, saying: "A queen's words, a wh*re's work" and thanked the Maester, making Nettles escape the very next day.

So, what do you guys think? this story can be interpreted in many ways, but who knows what the truth is 🤷🏻‍♀️

What if the Targtowers were raised in another way?

The Queen Alicent Hightower was Rhaenyra Targaryen step-mother and at first they had a "peaceful" relationship, one time when Rhaenyra served her a cup of wine, Alicent kissed her and called her "daughter". Their relationship started to worsen when Aegon was born, the king's first born son. As we all know, Viserys I Targaryen named his first born daughter, Rhaenyra, as his heir before he even married Alicent, but after Aegon's birth and the following ones of his brothers (Aemond and Daeron) he never changed his mind and kept her as his heir which was a scandalous thing since a woman never ruled the seven kindoms.

Alicent was a selfish woman who wanted her own blood on the throne and ignored the king's wishes of having his daughter as heir instead of his son, Aegon. She raised her children with the belief that Rhaenyra, their older half-sister, had stolen their "rightful" throne, to the lengths that Aegon and Rhaenyra met only once [SPOILERS] when Aegon had his dragon, Sunfyre eat her alive; she never had a documented interaction with Helaena nor Aemond and she never met Daeron.

When King Viserys I died, Alicent kept his death a secret and left his body to rot in his chambers to make her son, Aegon, usurp the throne. Aegon himself believed that Rhaenyra was the rightful heir: "My sister is the heir, what sort of brother steals his sister's birthright?" but his mother made him believe that if he didn't take the throne, she would've killed his whole family, so he felt like he had no other choice. (he never interacted with Rhaenyra before and the only things he knew about her where from Alicent, so obviously he decided to trust his mother instead of his sister which was like a stranger to him).

But what if Alicent and Viserys made them interact with each other during their childhood?, i don't think that a marriage between Aegon and Rhaenyra would've prevented the war (like Alicent proposed) because they would have argued about which one was the rightful heir and which one was the consort; but if they had interacted from the start, without Alicent getting in their way, i think they would've developed a great siblings relationship. If Aegon recognized his sister as the rightful heir when they never interacted before, imagine what kind of relationship they could've had if he growed with Rhaenyra around, same thing with Aemond and Daeron (even though Daeron was raised in Old Town). Rhaenyra always wanted a younger sister and i know that she would've loved Helaena wholeheartedly if she had the chance.

Basically the whole war could've been prevented if only the targtowers were able to have a "relationship" with their half-sister, nonetheless of their big age gaps.
