Brooksie's expression transcends the "Roaring '20s" and the "boop-a-doop flapper" straitjacket. This could've been taken in the early '60s or early '90s or today, for that matter. Something comes through that is not anchored to time and place.
Generally speaking, she was decades ahead of her time and not pleased about it, I think.
