Rime huffed and let herself fall in snow next to Taryn.
“It is no fun if you keep laying there, we still have so much ground to cover.”
Rime said with a whine, but did not make any attempt to get back up. Both of them grew silent as they looked up to the sky. Snow kept on falling down, covering the tracks they made.
“…”
After a minute of laying in the snow, Rime looked over to the mon next to her.
“You know, while I enjoy laying in the snow and all that, I feel like we really should keep going.”
Getting up again, Rime shook off the snow that had build up on her fur.
“The mountain does not like that we have been staying here.”
As she said that, the wind began to pick up. Snow began to fall more heavily.
“Lets keep this adventure going, we never know who will be waiting for us~”

“’The mountain doesn’t like that we’ve been staying here?’ Is that really your best attempt at getting me to move? You’re a weird one, and I should know, I know my brother after all~”
Taryn giggled before relenting, and getting up.
“Yeah, we’ll never know cus the snow will be too deep to see them!”
Rime just huffed as she started to walk away in a random direction, no tracks being visible from where they had come from. Is she going up or down the mountain? Who knows, certainly not Rime.
“Well have fun getting blown away, I am not going to get you from wherever you land up.” Rime said looking back at Taryn in the snow, slowly getting buried in it. Rime smirked.
“You know you look like aAAH-“ The sentence got cut off as Rime tripped over a snowbank. She can hear Taryn snickering, this does not please the Rime. Not at all.
Rime can just feel the smugness from Taryn. Bitch.
Looking back over what she tripped over all her irritation melted away. A wide grin began to form on Rimes face.
“Oh~ Look what found~ Looks like someone did not prepare for the snow.” Rime said in a singsong voice.
Taryn continues snickering for a few more moments, oblivious to Rime’s mishap, before catching a glimpse of the object in the snow.
“Wow Rime, you really should be more careful, unless you want me to come rescue you?~”
Taryn snickers more, walking towards rime before tripping over the same object.
“I mean, I can’t say I blame you, wanting to be rescued by such a pr-aaUGH”

(Taryn @ Taiga): A glaceon/flareon fusion walks in and strikes a very terrible flirty pose. "Yeah I got a question, why are you so cute?"
“I also accept beautiful and breathtaking~ I could use those words to describe you too dear, enjoy your stay at the festival.”
@sapphirevulpix
“How about all 3 then?~”
“I certainly will enjoy my stay here, if someone as luxurious as yourself is at the helm~”
(Sindri @ Maen): A pink vulpix wearing a red cape runs up to Maen excitedly. "FRIEND! I DIDNT KNOW YOU WERE GONNA BE HERE! YOU LOOK SO CUTE!" She prances around, having seemingly forgotten their plans to meet in her excitement. "Check out my costume! Imma vampire!" She says, as she playfully bites the eevee's neck.
“Sen you could make it!” Maen said enthusiastically as she saw her friend coming her way. “I was almost afraid you forgot we would meet up! Or did you forget?” She said jokingly at the other with a grin.
“Well that doesn’t matter.”Maen said, not waiting on an answer, holding out her paws and shoving a pouch in Sindri’s face before the Vulpix could get close to her neck. “I got you a gift~” She said in a sing song voice.
Inside the pouch was a Firestone. Maen looked at Sindri with a big grin.
“Do you like it? I had to get it for you. I searched all over the festival grounds for one of them!”
Sindri stares at the stone inside the pouch with stars in her eyes.
“You got.. this... for me??? MAEN!!”
She screams loudly before tackling Maen to the ground in a hug.

The Relic
“When I was a young vulpx, I was in a two-mon exploration with my best friend, an eevee named Taryn. We never did important missions, looking back its surprising they let is in at all, given that we were only kids. We were mostly sent on fetch quests, which we didn’t mind because what kids wouldn’t love an excuse to explore AND get paid? One day, however, that changed. The guild decided to give us a ‘big’ job, shortly after Taryn evolved. They told us that we were being sent out in search of some kind of relic, that was rumored to exist in a forest. Nobody had any proof of it’s existence, and the tales told about it sounded straight out of a fairy tale. I mean, come on, a relic that can change the user’s typing, even passing it on to their children? In hindsight, its obvious they thought it was bogus too, or else they would have sent anyone but us.”
The ninetales paused for a moment, letting out an exasperated sigh before continuing her story.
“We didn’t think much of it either, but again, who can say no to getting paid to explore? So we took the job, and set off the next day. We wandered around for a few days, before we found a strange-looking tree. We approached it, and it faded away and revealed a temple of sorts. We went inside after some hesitation, and after a short while of getting lost, we found it. It was real. We were cautious, me moreso than her, but we decided to grab it on the count of three. We reached out and….. I’m…. not certain what happened next….. It’s all a blur. All I remember is screaming, hearing voices in my head, losing my mind…. It took me years to recover, and I only really managed after I evolved. I wish I could say the same for her….. I went back…. all I found was her scarf… torn and bloody….”
Calia stopped walking, struggling to hold back tears.
“Sorry, this was a bad idea… I.. I need a moment…..”
(@oceanic-treasure-hunters) (continued from here)
Jasper grabbed a pencil and a piece of paper from his map tube to take notes during the story. He sat down on a nearby tree stump. Attentively listening and furiously writing, he made sure not to miss any important details. Near the end of Calia’s story, the scribbling stopped. Jasper’s eyes widened, his ears folding back as a feeling of regret suddenly fell over him.
“I- I’m so sorry. I never should have asked,” Jasper whimpered as he offered Calia to sit down on the tree stump. “I didn’t realize this treasure has had such a devastating effect on your life. All I wanted to know was whether or not you knew more about it. I surely didn’t mean to make you recall such a horrible memory.”
“I don’t know what those orbs are, but they are clearly unlike anything I’ve seen before. They might’ve played tricks on your mind the way you have with mine. Have you tried to remove them?” he wondered slightly concernedly. “I’d love to see what else they can do.”
Calia declined the offer, instead standing still for a few more moments before speaking again. “It’s fine, you didn’t know…”
She perked up a bit upon hearing the zigzagoon’s last question. “Actually, I don’t think I have. I think they’re a part of me? Kinda like an espeon’s gem… I have no idea. They were just sorta… there, after I evolved. I suppose we can try?”
“You know what?” Jasper replied. “Let’s give it a try then. But first, let’s get that vase of mine fixed. A few minutes ago you said the place was only a few minutes from there. It can’t be far now.”
“Say, Calia?” the zigzagoon hesitantly asked while preparing to continue walking. “I’ve never actually asked but why are you helping me? I’m just some random zigzagoon. For all you know, I could be completely crazy.” Jasper mumbled, “Considering the weird things that have happened since us meeting it’s pretty likely actually.”
“I think I can see it off in the distance!” the ninetales exlaimed. “It’s not a very big town, but I know there’s a shop that specializes in broken stuff!”
She seemed a bit surprised by Jasper’s question, but answered nonetheless.
“Well, why shouldn’t I help you? You haven’t posed anything resembling a threat to me~ And besides, even if you did, I’m a psychic, remember? Reading auras is not difficult at all, in fact its usually harder to not read them.”
“Wow, you do actually have a strong point there,” Jasper answered relievedly. “I’m just not used to this kind of hospitality I guess. Although hey, it’s a bit creepy that you’ve probably been reading my aura without asking. There should be rules of politeness for that kind of stuff.”
The zigzagoon laughed it off. He shook his head, trying not to make another problem out of it. The duo was approaching the town quickly. Jasper’s aura felt almost completely calm at this time, although there was still a very distant feeling of dread present. It seemed the paranoid explorer had finally been convinced.
“You say that as though aura reading is like reading minds, its quite different!” The ninetales remarked, as nonchalantly as ever.
“Think of it like looking at someone, you know how you can kinda tell a bit about a person by looking at them? It’s like that, but stronger and more definite. It’s not conscious, just like looking at someone or listening! You can’t exactly not look at someone without actively trying, right?”
She paused for a moment before speaking up again.
“I can see the town! Just a few more minutes!”
She picks up the pace, and begins running…
Now noticing that Calia had left him behind, Jasper rolled his eyes and sighed. “I guess I’m gonna have to give chase then.” Without hesitation, he dropped onto all fours and zigzagged after the ninetales.
“That’s interesting!” Jasper shouted when he got close to Calia. “I’ve never actually met a mon that could…” The zigzagoon clearly hadn’t thought this through, and had to stop talking to save his breath.
“Never met a mon that could what?~” The ninetales teased, slowing back down to a walk.
“Try not to draw too much attention to ourselves, the town’s friendly but you never know who might be passing through.”
As they entered the village, they walked past colorful houses and numerous shops, before finally arriving at a small shop with a single window, filled with wares in various states of repair.
{{The-void-between-worlds}} ??? @ Sindri: A lone Eevee slowly approached the Vulpix. The Eevee said fast as they nervously smiled and backed away from the Vulpix, ready to run away and forget this encounter.
The vulpix watches the eevee with curiosity for a few moments, before speaking up as the eevee begins to back away.
“Hey, where ya goin? I’m not that scary, am I? Besides, if you run off I can’t tell you about the super awesome forest you’ve found yourself in~”
She pauses for a moment before cautiously sticking her paw out in invitation to the eevee.
“Cmon, we can be friends! My name’s Sindri, what’s yours?~”
@the-void-between-worlds
“Ah um sorry for that! I did not mean to stare and when you saw me I kinda word vomit on you and then I could not shut up like now and I thought I should probs go cuz itonlygotworseand-” The Eevee kept talking in one breath only to cut off to take a deep breath before continuing.
“I don’t think you are scary! I thin-” She cut herself off to process what the other said.
“Friends? I would gladly be your friend Sen! My name is Maen~” Maen said happily to the other with a big smile as she got closer again to the Vulpix.
Character page has been updated
Sindri giggled before bouncing up and down excitedly.
“YAY! NEW FRIEND! I LOVE YOUR NAME OMG ITS SO PRETTY! Nice to meet you Maen!~”
She continues bouncing around for another minute or two before calming down a bit.
“Do you like exploring? There’s lotsa places we can go!”
“P-pretty? thank you! It is nice to meet you to Sen, Sen is okey right?” Maen blurted out, rapidly talking to the other with a blush on her face.
“My new mom gave it to me but she is kinda weird but in a good way you know? They always making up nicknames for others and most of them are quite funny.” Maen took a deep breath and looked back at Sindri.
“I love exploring! I always do it with Ruby, he is my new sibling! Do you have any siblings?” Maen asked enthusiastically at the other
Sindri looked at Maen with a sparkle in her eyes.
“SEN! I LOVE IT!”
“I’ve got a brother too! He’s funny, he drives my mommas nuts!”
The vulpix turns around and begins excitedly hopping once more.
“Cmon, there’s a really cool forest nearby! Momma says it’s not very big, but every time I go there, it never ends! We could explore for the rest of our lives if we wanted!”
“Glad you love it, I came on it on the spot! Mom does that a lot too.” Maen said with a smile and a laugh. “A brother is nice! With our family it is the other way around, mom is the one that drives Ruby and Chimey nuts! They have the best reactions.”
“Ohhh lets go to that place! It sounds like a real exploration place, I wonder if we find treasure. I do hope we won’t get lost…” Maen said with a bit of worry, looking at her new friend.
“YAY!! ADVENTURE!! I’m sure we’ll find lotsa treasure!”
Sindri bounced around excitedly before darting off into the woods.
The two walked for a bit, and as they walked, the forest seemed to change around them. The sky turned a dark olive green full of stars, and the trees seemed to compliment the colors of the sky. The further they walked, the darker it got, yet there was somehow still enough light to see.
As they continued on, a faint roaring sound gradually grew louder. It kept growing louder and louder, until whatever it was, sounded very nearby. Sindri stopped, pushing aside some large bushes to reveal a small waterfall with a shallow pool at the bottom.
“C’mon, let’s stop and cool off for a bit!! Isn’t it so pretty??” She said, running up to the pool and splashing around.

"Awwe, well, aren't you just the CUTEST LITTLE THING?" Wings stretched out above as a Yveltal-Diancie fusion practically seemed to materialize from nothing above Saph. "You know, I've never controlled a Vulpix before! Heheh, how FUN that'd be!" Balesfi let out a giggle and folded his wings partially to take a more casual pose. "Ohh, but something feels different about you. My, what is it? What could it be?" He grinned, leaning in close. "Is something... wrong, perhapsss?"
The vulpix stared up, her body trembling with fear. “C… controlled? W…what are you talking about……. T-there’s not anything wrong… I-is there?”
She begins looking around, searching for some danger that she might have missed, paranoia obviously overcoming her….

“PFFFFT! What are you talking about! Of course there’s something wrong!”
Balesfi’s grin widened.
“I am a GOD, why would I tell anything but the TRUTH? In fact… I’m sure you know where the danger is coming from! Who is the only person here aside from me?”
He flapped his wings and leaned in.
“Be careful, little fluff~! Don’t wanna accidentally hurt y-o-u-r-s-e-l-f, hmmmm? Or others, but which is worse, really?”
“H-h-hurt someone?”
The vulpix’s trembling intensifies, as she barely manages to choke out two words. She looks down at her paws, obviously realizing what the diantal is trying to imply. She looks back up slowly with a primal fear in her eyes, seemingly unable to speak more…….
“I should really strike you down here,” Balesfi snarled, moving as if to lash out- and freezing before he hit her with a sadistic grin. His fake out didn’t move the air at all- only an image, intimidating as it may seem.
“Just kidding~ Hehe, why would I do that? I’m all for destruction~!”
He then opened his wings, eyes glinting threateningly.
“Go, run along then! It was fun, buuut I’m bored now~”
Sapphire jumped, an expression of pure terror frozen on her face. As the giant bird faded out, leaving her alone, she falls to the ground trembling and begins to cry...

“Cmon, we can be friends! My name’s Sindri, what’s yours?~”
@the-void-between-worlds

“It’s fine, you didn’t know...”
She perked up a bit upon hearing the zigzagoon’s last question. “Actually, I don’t think I have. I think they’re a part of me? Kinda like an espeon’s gem... I have no idea. They were just sorta... there, after I evolved. I suppose we can try?”

Calia paused at Jasper’s question, her cheerful expression momentarily fading.
“Its… a long story.. if you really want to know, I suppose I can tell you later. For now though, you should keep moving, dont want to get stuck out here after dark now do we?”
Her playful expression returned as she continued walking through the woods towards the village, ensuring she stayed within the zigzagoon’s sight….

Noticing the change of Calia’s expression, Jasper promptly apologized. Without slowing down his pace, he plucked a pair of apples from a nearby tree in one fluid motion. After thoroughly checking the apples for wurmples, he sunk his teeth into one, passing the other to the ninetails.
“I’d love to know the story behind it though,” Jasper added curiously with his mouth full. “If we have time to kill on our journey to this trap- I mean repair shop of yours, you might as well tell me.”
She took the apple, double-checking it before placing it in her bag for later.
“I suppose there’s no way to convince you other than to show you that it’s not a trap then…” The ninetales sighed, seemingly giving up on trying for now.
“Cmon, we’re almost there. Just a few more minutes~”
“Hey, stop changing the subject! A few minutes is enough to give a short summary at least!” Jasper said, eager to hear Calia’s story. “Please? It’s not like we’re doing anything important right now.”
Noticing a structure on the horizon, Jasper quickly finished his apple and lobbed the core into some nearby shrubs. The closer they came to the building, the harder he begged to hear at least a little part of the story. It seemed as if there was more to this than friendly curiosity.
Calia rolled her eyes, giving a short sigh before continuing. “I suppose we have time for the short version...”
She hesitated for a moment, seemingly preparing herself for the story about to be told......
