This is just a personal blog for me to peruse the greater world. I'm incredibly anxious, so don't take my lurking or lack of response as a sign I don't like you! (Actually, if I think your blog's big enough or close enough to me personally, I might cry •m• )
While my blog isn't overtly NSFW, I would recommend blocking for those who dislike serious discussions or are otherwise easily unnerved. More details under cut!

I am not very knowledgeable about new(er)/more niche internet communities, so I don't really have a strong opinion (if any) on fandom discourse, shipping discourse, etc.

My general belief is that people choose to identify the way they do for very specific and often personal reasons that are none of our business as strangers. As such, I do not care about "contradictory labels" and don't tolerate gatekeeping in marginalized communities. Everyone's oppressed in these communities, this isn't a competition, and policing people's language is a rather scummy thing to do.
Also for the record, I've had this blog name since before I identified as any flavor of not-cis. I am not changing it because, despite only debatably describing my identity, it is an excellent name.

I've seen a lot of people in the comments saying people needing to pass a test to have kids is a good idea, but I don't think they understand what that means. The US government used to take Indigenous children from their parents for reasons as asinine as grandparents living in the home (called "overcrowded environment") or using only their native language at home instead of English (because it "failed to prepare" children for a world where English is the dominant langauge).
Children placed in residental schools were abused, murdered, and sold into arranged marriages with white men. More recently, children "adopted" out into white households are often also subjected to the same, as well as forcibly converted to Christianity.
The most effective way to protect children in the country is to give them rights to ensure their safety, autonomy and dignity. Eugenics and laws to control reproduction will not do that. Crafting legislation with the help of child wellness experts is a better choice.
I should add - the US government STILL disproportionately targets Indigenous families for child welfare checks. ICWA is supposed to protect against this but is unevenly enforced, and there's even talk of overturning it. Protect ICWA and Indigenous children.

I'd never thought I needed to be paranoid about the fact that photos I share on social media might be turned into memes in a discord run by JuicyBigNut but that's what existing in a public space as a black person is like! not to mention the fact that they don't even know who the man in the picture, yet we know who first spread it and no one has beaten that guy to death yet
this post and all its wonderful additions (look in the notes) is circulating again. these photos and many of the ones added in the notes come from the US Southwest.
right now the trump administration is attacking the public lands in the Southwestern US. most recently (July 2026), in Utah the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante national monuments have been cut by over 90% to allow for mining. these lands are sacred to multiple Native nations in the area and contain irreplaceable archeological sites. additionally, the commission of Native representatives who aided in management of these lands has been dissolved leaving Native people without a voice in caring for the remaining land. here in New Mexico, the 10 mile buffer zone surrounding Chaco Canyon preventing oil and gas drilling is under attack. Chaco Canyon contains incredibly old and incredibly fragile archeological sites sacred to Pueblo people. these sites are threatened by mining and drilling. (read more here)
The attack on the Chaco buffer zone is currently in a public comment period open until July 29. PLEASE leave a public comment to save these irreplaceable places.
and if you have a computer with a disc drive, you can move the content of those CDs onto it and then burn it onto future CDs. it doesn't even have to be the same album. you can make a playlist with physical media. you just have access to all of it, at your whim, with no unskippable ads being shoved in your ears. it's really nice!
And if you have a CD player (or an adapter) you can listen in the car, on back roads, in the middle of crowded city streets, or when everyone on the air wants to talk about sports when you just want to hear some Hozier.
