Pivoting to my husband's Heavy Stealth Suit to try to get it off my painting desk. I absolutely LOVE doing decorative bases! Here are some WIP pics for you!

Okay I know I said I wasn't going to paint but that doesn't mean I'm not going to print and assemble! I got 10 Warrior Sisters put together last night, 8 with battle rifles and 2 with flamers. I'll still want a few extras for special units like an extra medic, and a few who have the Precision Target special rule but this is a great start to the general populace of Warriors.

SPEAKING OF Precision Target... In OPR, it's a once-per-game ability, to mark an enemy unit, and everyone gets +1 to hit rolls when targeting that unit afterwards. So, I was thinking about tokens for it. The token would stay with the unit, and once expended, move from the unit (who can't use it anymore) and to the target (which is now marked)... Then, Maker's Cult came out with a brand new unit for the Daughters of War - DRONES!

Sooooo I also printed off 5 of these to use as targeting drones. I figure I'll print Sisters with large optics on their helmets to signify their drone targeting uplink, making them the one with Precision Target attached the same way Regeneration is attached to the medic... Just in case someone gets killed.

The ol' neck and shoulders are proper messed up, friends. I think I'm gonna take the rest of the week to not be shrimp-shaped over my new models and recover.

On the desk, I have :

6 Celestial Sisters w/ Fusion Rifles (I think these are more Retributors? I'm not sure, I don't play 40k but "fusion" = "melta")

2 more Exo-Suits that are 80% done (Paragons)

A Medic

2 Inferno Tanks (Immolators) that I'm VERY excited about and have some great plans for!

Then, for my husband's DAO Union / T'au Empire dudes :

3 Battle Suits

1 Battle Suit Elite

1 Heavy Battle Suit / Heavy Stealth Suit (could really be either) w/ decorative base

I'll probably actually pivot to the DAO Union mechs when I come back next week. The white armor is already done, complete with oil washes, so the rest should be pretty quick. Once I get those knocked out I'll have a clearer conscience that I'm not neglecting my husband in lieu of my own selfish desires.

Blessed Sisters Support Sisters / Adepta Sororitas Retributor Squad

I'll admit, I wasn't super confident when I primed these models white, and then hit them with a coat of Apothecary White Contrast paint. I've been doing the "prime black, zenithal up to white" undercoat for so long, that priming white felt like a huge mistake, especially given the sort of grimdark bases I put them on. I'm PLEASANTLY surprised, especially with how the Apothecary White performed here. It was a super easy step to get 80% of the armor done, only requiring a few taps of a brush to bring the highlights back up to white on each model. Some quick Basilicanum Grey, and some red and silver detailing, and these models were basically done! They printed like a dream, and were super fun to build AND paint. I'm truly looking forward to more of this army.

Blessed Sisters Exo-Suit / Adepta Sororitas Paragon War-Suit

I'm overall pretty happy with this one. It's a little more slapdash than normal, because I'm not wanting to spend a ton of time on making these beautiful show pieces. I'm working to get my models done fast, but still look decent, using the tools I have available and limited palate. I feel I achieved that goal nicely! Shout out to the Goblin Hobbies stamping plates for the cool icons - the Shield icon I've decided is the unit marking for this detachment of Sisters (I haven't decided on a name yet) as well as the "Anvil" symbol marking this as an Exo-Suit armor unit.

The middle model is my test model. The others are ones I painted last night. Do ya'll see the problem?

How do I fix this problem?

Paint the white shoulder pad all red to match, it looks fine red.

Paint the other 5 white to match the test model, it looks better.

Yeah, there's that. I didn't think of it because the unit in-game doesn't have a "Sergeant" option, but there's nothing stopping me from making her one even if it's no different from the other 5 stats-wise.

First Blessed Sisters Exo-suit done. (Paragon Warsuit in 40k). These models were an absolute delight, and once my back is feeling better, I'll have the rest done.

how did you do their armor? just a white speed paint? same with the red cloth

Primed grey, then airbrushed very light grey all over from 90º on up, then a generous zenethal of white ink.

Then a coat of gloss varnish, and a Payne's Grey oil wash. The grey joints are just Basilicanum Grey Contrast paint over that base coat.

The red cloth are just Two Thin Coats Berserker Red -> Sanguine Scarlet -> Demon Red.

Back is hurting so we're taking it easy today. Just finished the Contrast Grey on the weapons and fuel tanks and calling it quits there for now. I'm adoring how quickly the paint scheme comes together on them!

I was inspired by @sara-paints 's really elegant night scythe. I decided to repaint these guys.

These are some of the first models I ever bought- I started in the edition when fliers were really strong and multiple factions were getting them. You can tell these are older because of the plus shaped flight stand - they use a single, narrow, stem stand now.

Tried lots of new things on these. Partly Pro Acryl royal purple (curved parts of the right hand scythe) also used an airbrush to get a fresh base color and cover the mess I had made of these years ago.

Me : when I do my Blessed Sisters army, I'm going to make the paint scheme super easy so I can just bust it out and get my models on the table. I'm NOT turning this into a huge painting project!
