Stuck Inside [ Dexabeth ]
Her fingers were tapping against the screen of her iPhone, eyes looking straight at it as she waited for the elevator to arrive on her level. Ding. The girl looked up as the doors opened, and then immediately walking in, pressing the L button that leads to the lobby. She was typing again the minute her phone chimed to notify her that another text was sent in, but as she pressed send, the message was not sent due to the lack of signal. Probably the only disadvantage of the Reckless' elevator. Sarabeth looked up at the digital number on the screen, she had only moved one floor, and then she suddenly felt the elevator shaking and then stopping abruptly a minute later. Sarabeth immediately looked around, pressing random buttons as she tried to find out what happened. "Hello? Anyone out there?" She called out, worried that someone might be playing tricks and pressing the emergency stop button outside. Suddenly the lights went out and the brunette was standing in complete darkness inside the metal box. She tries to press the buttons that will open the door, but nothing was happening. She tried to pry the doors, open but it wouldn't budge. She panicked. The brunette banged the door, calling out for someone. She knew that if the blackout is not going to be over soon, she would have no more oxygen supply to breathe in. "Help!" She yelled out once more, pressing the emergency alarm button multiple times. She was able to hear it, but she was not sure if anyone else was out there. Meanwhile, just outside, Dexter was on his way to walk back to his room after a conversation he had with a new girl when he heard the alarm ring and a faint voice calling from outside. He rushed over to the elevator. "Hello? Can you hear me?" He called for the person inside, hoping that she would stop the alarm so that they can communicate. "Sarabeth, is that you?" He asked, getting a hint of familiarity in the girl's voice. "Are you in there alone?" When Sarabeth heard a voice outside, the brunette stopped pressing the alarm and went closer to the door to listen. Dexter, she knew. "Dexter! Help me!" She called out; she could feel the air getting hotter, and sweat slowly forming on her skin. She hated being confined in the small metal box, suspended in mid-air by nothing but cables. "Don't worry, love I'll get you out of there, alright?" He assured her before he looked around to find something he could pry the door open with. But he found nothing, so he tried to force the door open with his hands. As he pushed the two metal doors apart, the door jumped back, causing him to let go instantly. "Hurry..." she whimpered, anxiety falling down on her shoulders. His previous attempt managed to create a small gap where he could push the door further more, so he tried again. "Hang in there, baby, I'll get you out of there. I won't leave you," he said as he pushed the doors open again, his biceps flexing and his muscles burning, the gap growing bigger. As Sarabeth saw the doors widened, she moved forward and immediately helped him pushing the doors open, even if she might not be that much big of a help. The metal double doors opened just enough for her to get out, so the girl grabbed her bag and immediately slipped through the gap, arms immediately wrapping around Dexter's neck, hugging him. Despite his muscles burning after the activity, the male returned her hug, soothing her shaking body. "It's okay, love,” he whispered, catching his breath. “It’s okay." He comforted her, rubbing her back. "Come on, let's go to my room," he said, guiding her to his room as she leaned her head on him still. Sarabeth walked along with Dexter to his apartment, sitting on the sofa as Dexter went to grab a glass of water for her. He sat on the coffee table across from her, handing her the glass which Sarabeth took and sipped a few gulps from. He observed her, noting how pale she was. He reached out and held her hand, brushing his thumb over her knuckles, unsure of what to do. He shifted and sat beside her, his arms wrapping around her shoulder and pulling her close to him. The supermodel buried her face in the crook of his neck, slowly having her breathing slowly going back to normal as they stayed in silence.
