So if Emily and Andy both couldn’t get pregnant and had to use a surrogate with Andy’s eggs, they’d be two different types of support. They’d both go to all the appointments they could.

Andy would be the one who helps calm the surrogate down if she’s feeling nervous or anxious. Soft, soothing words. She’s talked her out of panic a few times.

Emily is the one who gets the nurses and doctors to do what the surrogate wants or just needs, especially if they’re not listening to said surrogate (not intentionally, they might just be really busy). This is crucial for the delivery itself as Emily advocates hard for her.

But they’re able to switch as needed. Once Andy can’t make an appointment and Emily calms the surrogate down with the same soft words and touches that Andy uses. One time Emily can’t make it and Andy yells at the nurse for making a negative comment under her breath.

Emily is also the one who reaches her during the delivery when the pain gets to be too much (even with the epidural), and she’s the first one who checks in immediately after the baby is born, making sure she’s ok, before joining Andy and the baby.

Saw DWP2 last night. 7/10.

Sachston stocks are UP and my lil shipper heart was fed. Honestly it I didn’t already ship them, I would after seeing that.

There’s a lot to this movie that I loved, but the Andy and Emily relationship has always been my favorite dynamic. (Although Nigel and Andy made me tear up, and I actually think their last scene was my favorite in the whole movie.)

What do you mean Emily tried to call Andy after Paris?! She wanted to be pals. Andy thought it was a butt dial. They could have been friends (or more) this whole time????

Ugh I love a second chance romance so much. I cannot wait to read more fics about them, especially with the kids (which isn’t a trope I am usually into buuuuuuut…..). I would have thought they made Emily childless and partner less but I love that Andy and Emily kind of had those roles reversed (and I appreciate that they specifically made Andy childfree, as someone who also doesn’t want kids). The joke about her frozen eggs in a doctor’s office was funny.

I also loved the yearning looks Andy gave Emily throughout the film, like girl same. Their last scene together was so sweet. Andy talking Emily up and forgiving her!!!! 🥹🥹🥹🥹

Also Emily B’s acting in the betrayal scene??? So. Good. She sold it - people in the theater audibly gasped. I see what Emily B was saying when she said that Andy and Emily C are the other love story and that Emily C needs someone to forgive her. That def hits differently now that I’ve seen what she’s talking about.

I also saw a tweet that was like “I’d watch a two hour movie of Miranda having to take HR training modules” and I would also love to watch this.

Me: I will avoid spoilers for the devil wears prada 2, I am seeing it next week, I can handle waiting. I will rewatch the first one this weekend and it’ll be fine.

Also me: god I hope it ends with everyone on good terms (and they KNOW they’re on good terms, no hidden smiles after hanging up the phone) and Emily and Andy are officially friends. Sachston stocks better be up.

Also, not gonna lie, it is so refreshing to have a major cultural moment that's just FREE. You don't have to pay a cent to watch this on NASA's YouTube. There's not a single ad, not a single sponsor plastered anywhere. It's just smart people doing cool things.
