The Angels of Islington in Final Three
I have just found out that The Angels of Islington has made the FINAL THREE in the Kobo Writing Life - SilverWood Books - Berforts Information Press writing competition. Gosh. How did that happen?!http://bit.ly/1DN3HMV
This is the life, rainbow cocktails in the hotel bar :)
Good morning Turkey
Cambridge University Library
I joined the Cambridge University Library today. It's a quirky place, unlike any library I've ever visited. I was reminded of Terry Pratchett's Unseen University Library. I could well imagine time and space warping in there, and me getting thoroughly lost, wandering around the many many shelves of books, forever.
At one point I was looking for a book which, according to a note on the shelf sign, could be found behind the stairs, except there was a wall in the way. I imagined that maybe the wall might open up into another section of the library in another dimension, until I realised that to get to the other side of the wall I had to follow the shelf on the other side of the stairs round. Mystery solved.
There are lots of other quirky aspects to the library, plus more that I have yet to discover. I think I'm going to have fun there. :)

Book Signing event at Penderel's Oak on 28th Feb 2015
I entered the book cover for The Angels of Islington into a competition in December. It didn't win, but I did get a nice little review by the blog author Joel Friedlander, you can see the line up and winners on the blog, my book is about two thirds down the page.
RANDOM FACT: The chamber pot was also known as a 'jeroboam', shortened to 'jerry', the nickname for German soldiers in WWII, as their helmets resembled said 'jerry' :)
One week to go to the three author signing and panel at Penderel's Oak, Holborn. Three authors, One great, free event. Don't miss it!
Nice surprise from KallKwik, I won their valentine draw for champagne and chocs! ^_^
Just in case you missed the pre-launch party, I read an excerpt of The Angels of Islington against the background of music courtesy of Theatre des Vampires. I have since recorded it for those who could not make it to the event. You can hear it here -
I will be appearing alongside Natasha Scharf and AJ Blakemont for an exclusive author event! Come along if you can :)
Check out this short story by Keith Channing, featuring one of the characters in The Angels of Islington! :)
