Giorgio Morandi was an Italian painter whose painting are known for their tonal subtlety. Throughout his career he mostly painted landscapes and still lifes. He depicted the same vases and bottles throughout his paintings, focusing on their tone, color, and composition.

THE hands down best way to do hard-edge masking technique . Watch this vid and repost- it’s like in the painting bible. You can use an all purpose painting medium instead of the ones he recommends in the vid. Alos, instead of using gesso, you can use clear medium or the base colour of your painting.
To do this masking technique Painters Tape is best - eg. 3M painters tape for ‘delicate surfaces’. Normal masking tape will work but you may get some bleeding.

Colour introduction - Activity: coloured object colour wheel
Collect 20 - 30 colourful objects around the house.
1) Take care to arrange them in terms of the traditional colour wheel - keep checking back to the wheel for guidance. This should give you an entry point into the warm and cool colours.
2) Now collect pairs of objects that are a
Warm and cool Red
Warm and cool blue

3) Find a really jazzy complementary contrast of objects and photo them side by side.
