This Monday is the season finale of Star vs the Forces of Evil Season 2! It’s a one-hour special with two episodes, Face the Music and Starcrushed. I boarded the scenes of Queen Moon’s secret journey in Face the Music, which was the most fun I might have ever had doing a straight-up fantasy sequence. Moon rules! Hope you all enjoy the finale!

I don't know if you opened the question I asked earlier, but I wanted to know more about storyboard design and how you got started in cartoons. I'm graduating high school and heading off to the pre-med track in college. But I really love cartoons and would want to write them as a living, do I need art experience (not the best artist), a lot degree? Please let me know, I'm really interested and would love to get involved in any way possible.

Hi there! I just learned I got a bunch of asks that Tumblr didn’t notify me about, so I’m sorry if this question is really out of date. If you’d like to write for animation, it’s good to understand visual writing - scripting for comics or animation requires a lot of visual gags and scenarios. But you don’t have to draw anything to be a writer for a show; you just need to remember at all times that it will end up in a drawn state, and keep that in mind as you write your premises and scripts. Learning story structure is much more important. Understanding character development, being able to track a story arc through a short amount of time (will this story fit in 11 minutes?), etc is also necessary. Many non-artists get their start in production, either working as interns or as PA’s. Study the shows you love, write some spec scripts and start sending your work out!

Check out Belle Pepper! And if you haven’t been watching SANJAY AND CRAIG, this is a perfect time to start. I can’t say how proud I am of this show and its crew. It’s become one of the funniest, weirdest, most heartfelt shows on TV and I’m so excited to be a part of it. Hope you enjoy it!
