I’ve been playing around with trimming down my wardrobe to 35 pieces or less- a “capsule” wardrobe- in a way in which they all work together. It’s been infinitely helpful to draw myself and see how things work- and to make a pinterest board to see what colors and shapes I naturally gravitate to. To start I drew up 3 warm weather and 3 cool weather looks- A lot of these things I already own, or in the case of the red short sleeve sweater/top and teal scarf, are things I’m in the process of currently knitting myself (the hat in the bottom middle I’ve already made :3)
I see my own personal style as a transition from the sort of “grunge” aesthetic I’ve always felt comfortable in to a slightly more professional version of that style- as I transition into being a business person. Boxy/baggy shapes, loose fabrics, and dark or densely saturated colors beside cool neutrals.
If you’re interested in doing this yourself- I highly recommend this article to get started! http://theblissfulmind.com/2015/03/23/creating-a-capsule-wardrobe/
You can download the same palette and slide pages I’ve worked on here!

Playing around with a sketch of the Desert Room at the Rawlings Conservatory in Baltimore. A little bit of process as well, merging my sketch in photoshop (I like to use long sketchbooks), meticulously editing out the gutter, and cleaning up the values of different parts of the drawing. After adding color I like to clean up the palette a bit with another layer of color tinkering.
*edited because I kept tinkering and well it happens*
Cool blog full of illustration and Jazz, glad to have my contribution be part of it!
