My favorite line in Sense and Sensibility (the book, not the film) occurs when Elinor is forced into conversation with this arrogant shithead guy at a party who does nothing but talk himself up and sound like an idiot and Austen writes: Elinor agreed to it all, for she did not think he deserved the compliment of rational opposition. OMG. It’s 2019 and this is still such a fucking mood.
