Idk how to quantify how much I've waited to write out all this stupid Makai shit in this fic so I can move on to other stuff about Makai but literally curling up on the ground writing Kurama being annoyed with Yuusuke is SO tricky for me...
BUT I finally got to have Yukina mention my headcanon about Koorime being born during different 'seasons' having different ears, even if they are born via parthenogenesis, that's never a real promise of exact genetic duplicates after all / me going Hyouga has a slightly warmer time and much colder time ( to most anyone but Koorime or ice youkai, couldn't tell the diff )

On my nightly 'trying to manually translate small lines I wanna know what they really say from my YYH raws' what did you MEAN by 'see? Clarisse' Yuusuke. The context has no reason to be like...Silence of the Lambs OR Fahrenheit 451 which is the only two Clarisse I can think of??<- I'm a dipshit, CLARICE is Silence of the Lambs Although, I have never read the latter's novel and the former I haven't read in so long I barely remember much... I don't want to read books to see if they have context to a ONE off line like this but it's really been making me bonkers for decades I want to know why

I had to go look up a script of the English dub of Castle of Cagliostro + got a copy ( that has fan subs, I will clarify!) to look at real quick! I highly doubt I am the first person to point this out but, now *I* know that's what Yuusuke was probably referencing because it fits

Trying to go to sleep but so excited to finally write out these next chapters of this July, 1999 fic of mine, too... I'm really happy I like my OWN fic this much I'm genuinely foot kicking thinking about it. I've had this in mind for a while now and then I can finally spiderweb out other longer fics that will go into the same timeline! mostly to feed myself breaking cycles but being stuck in old ones, the work it can take! How Humans change everything they interact with, good and bad ways.
And ( perhaps ambitious on this one ->) how many forms of corruption can happen in the parts of society intended to, or perceived to do so, protect the masses but also feed myself.
I'll also get to write Kurama losing a bit of composure due to his limiting himself for years, which will be fun, since it will be at Yomi but not help Kurama feel very much better ( things that in here will hopefully make more contextual sense, than my disjointed bedtime Tumblr post )
And also Hiei is here and has a pet and is pretty content tbh!!!

Shizuru had moved out a few years ago, to an apartment closer to the city and this year she’s spending her day off at her home, with her girlfriend. Their dad even tried the ‘bring her! We love Hitomi-chan!’ but Shizuru had laughed over the phone. She loves them, but, not every single chance to go home is something she needs to take.
Once I finish these three chapter I gotta...draw a whole page of Shizuru and Hitomi stuff Im so hungry. I opened this whole fic with 'where is Shizuru? Living her best damn life' and that's so me to me
This one’s based on @counting-sinful-stars‘s suggestion, and I might’ve gone overboard with it. <<;;
Anyhow, here’s Reverse!Fox Dad, where a much older Hiei takes to feeding and caring for an ancient fox who one day accumulates enough spiritual power to become a youkai, whom Hiei adopts because, well, he was already taking care of the aging fox and the new one is a cocky piece of shit.
This is also a Hiei who’s already contacted and made peace with Yukina, so he’s more emotionally grounded and can admit to himself wanting company isn’t a sign of weakness.
Youko is an over-confident youth with sticky fingers and a proclivity for making up rumors about his personal achievements (”One day they’ll whisper my name in fright, Hiei, you’ll see”). Hiei spends a lot of their time cleaning up after Youko and keeping them on the run from demons Youko steals from. Youko has great potential, but Hiei wishes he would learn to measure himself and have some self control.
Then Youko involves himself with a couple guys who want to steal the Three Artifacts of Darkness, has to flee to the human world with Hiei hot on his heels, and gets them involved with the new Spirit Detective, Yuusuke Urameshi. Banished from returning to Makai as payment for their involvement in the heist, Hiei is merely glad there’s now more babysitters for Youko.
Hiei wears his tear gem on his ear because I felt like it, things would obviously go different towards the Three Kings arc so Mukuro doesn’t need to have it.

Awake now...I must do a few things then sit and edit this chapter, I wrote almost 7k words! I'll probably edit that down to 5k or so, though, I take way too severe of a scalpel to my writing but I did it. I got in the Hiei and Yukina time, and the drawing thing AND THE SABU MAGAZINE!!!
