While your daddy f***** sleep
(Not mine)
I love your daddy, I really do,
After all, without daddy, I wouldn't have you.
But from midnight till sunrise, it's just you and I.
And as each hour passes, I'm not gonna lie:
Mommy's love slowly fades, becomes angry and weak,
Because no matter what, your dad is f***ing asleep!
It all starts out lovely. We kiss each other goodnight.
We look lovingly down at you dear, such a beautiful sight.
An hour later, mommy wakes with a start.
You're twisting and turning, you're starting to fart.
You're gesturing for food. Mommy is there
with a bottle or breast
Daddy is snoring away, the way he knows best.
Mommy burps you, and holds you and rocks you with care.
You spew foul smelling yogurt on mommy's freshly washed hair.
As mommy changes her shirt, and mops vomit off the floor.
Your daddy farts, rolls over and continues to snore.
Mommy's maternal alarm goes off, it's not even three!
You're stirring again, you're hungry and staring at me!
"I think she is hungry" your daddy offers, pulls duvet over his head,
Mommy sends him a death stare and rolls out of bed.
Mommy comes back, tired and drained and what is this I see?
Your daddy has taken over my side, doesn't give a f*** about me!
Mommy kicks him and pushes him angrily away.
"What's up love?" He moans in a lovingly way.
Your daddy has no clue he is under attack.
He wraps his arms around me and kisses my back.
And just as my love for daddy is back on the rise,
You start to coo in your crib and open your eyes.
And daddy gently nudges me to attend to your need.
I give him the finger as I prepare for a feed.
But as the sun starts rising, the slate is wiped clear.
I'm back to full love for your daddy and for you my dear.
I forget that daddy sleeps while you cry and you poo.
It's back to kissing and hugging and doting on you.
Soon you'll grow up and be daddy's little girl.
You'll not remember me cleaning up shit and vomit hurl.
Whilst you sit on his lap and he sings you a song,
You'll love him and think daddy could do nothing wrong.
But my sweet love, here is a poem for you to keep,
So you know that all those long nights, dad was f***ing asleep!

Mum of toddler...
To be perfectly honest, I still can’t believe that I am a mum in the first place! But to a toddler!? If you would asked me if I want a child like 4-5 years ago my response would of been a big fat - NO! So you see how it is unbelievable the situation is for me.
But surprises don’t stop there! Oh no! This little bundle I’ve been so carefully growing is becoming his own person! Yes, person! Let me explain my reason for such surprise. See, I thought that because I “made” him, he will be almost if not complete copy of me! He dose look like me. And so I was expecting him to do things “my way”, to think “my way”, to talk/to walk “my way”. Don’t ask me why, i just did (or still do).
With every day he grows his personality grows and I can’t deny any longer. But here is the most surprising and most amazing part - it’s makes me love him even more (like that’s possible).
So proud to say that I became an ambassador for the JustStrong! This amazing gym wear company combined two of my favourite things - stand out with cool quotes clothing and women supporting women. Do check them out! And if you use my discount code AIJLENKA10 you’ll get 10% off
When the day is hard
Waking up at 6 a.m. always unwilling but when you wake up in a bad mood it’s hard. But it’s even harder when you and your toddler woke up in a bad mood! You are getting on each other’s nerves equally often and for no reason.
We had a very busy day but also a hard day. We both were moody as hell! So seating now on the sofa in each other’s arms is just plain miracle! But it is the best miracle possible!
Mommy's Night Before Christmas
‘Twas the night before Christmas, the kids were in bed
Anxiously awaiting the Big Man in Red;
The stockings weren’t hung (we don’t have a chimney),
We just set them down in front of the TV.
Who am I kidding? The kids weren’t sleeping,
The baby was teething, drooling, and weeping;
The preschooler was playing with a million toys,
Driving his cars and making lots of noise.
Half an hour later, the baby passed out,
His brother went to bed (not without a good pout);
I let out a great big sigh of relief,
Then I looked around and thought, “Oh, good grief!”
The house was a mess, the laundry never-ending,
And there was still that ornament that needed mending.
At least were we done hiding that stupid elf,
Went back where he came from, him and his shelf;
Hours passed, we thought we were finally done;
We found more gifts, the fun had just begun;
We were out of wrapping paper and tape,
Reused gift bags put us back in good shape;
I sat down to relax, put my feet up,
Snuggled into a blanket with my tea cup;
A bang outside roused me to my feet,
I peeked out the curtains, looked down the street.
“I don’t think it’s the neighbors,” Daddy said;
“What? You think it’s Santa in his big sled?”
He went to check it out, shot me a look,
And told me to go back to reading my book;
A minute later, I heard a great yell,
And said under my breath, “What the hell?”
I put on my shoes, grabbed the monitor,
Slipped into a coat, and stomped out the door;
The clear winter night brought no Christmas snow,
Instead moonlight washed the yard in a soft glow;
Daddy stood there staring up at the roof;
I hissed, “What are you doing, you big doof?”
He merely pointed, his face full of fear,
And gave a soft whisper, “It’s a reindeer.”
Now, I haven’t believed since I was six,
Thought surely his eyes must be playing tricks;
Then I heard a stomping and a nicker
That made my heart beat a little quicker;
Looking up, I saw the brown muzzle, red nose,
The Fat Man himself, and I simply froze.
Daddy and I exchanged a look of wonder,
The shock could’ve put us six feet under;
I shook my head and came to my senses,
Glared at Santa, went on the offensive;
“Get off my roof, your reindeer too,” I hissed;
I glared at Santa, feeling really pissed;
He laughed, “Don’t end up on my naughty list.”
Clearly this guy wasn’t getting my gist.
“With all due respect, get the hell out of here;
If you wake my kids, you won’t see next year.”
Quiet as a shadow those reindeer took flight,
Santa whispered, “Merry Christmas and good night.”
Sleep while you can!
When you been woken up at 5.30-6 a.m. by a full of energy baby and you have to, have to get out of bed and dress him , you are not in the best of moods. It’s still dark, bed is nice and worm, just another 20-30 minuets you aren’t unreasonable! But he is up and on the move!
And so your day has started. There is a routine has been established by now. Or not. Maybe you still figuring this all out. Even so - good morning! You go about your day. Routine , day plans, schedule. Along the way your little one just won’t do what you want him to do. Because he doesn’t understand yet why, why now, why this way and what exactly he needs to do. Or! Or he just been annoying. And in most cases - both!
But the day goes by, sometimes slower then you would prefer but anyway. The clock is moving. And it’s comes to that point of the day. That magical moment you been waiting for. You been stressed, you been annoyed and you been frustrated by now like a couple of hundred times. And now it’s here! Your savvier! Nap time!
And he drifts away to land of dreams. And you are getting yourself back. Now is the time for yourself. And it’s probably short, like an hour or so. And it’s probably been filled with things to do like literally every minute of it.
But take a breath. Look at your little one! How sweet is he looks?! An angel no less. And if I could ask all moms the same question right now I think I would get exact same answer. My question is - how you feel? And the answer would be - happy. But happy not because you have a little break from being a mom. Happy - as when you look at your baby sleeping and your heart fills with love. Love and nothing else. There is no more annoyance or stress or frustration. Your heart forgets in instant all that. There is just pure love.
And so your day goes on ... you keep promising yourself to go early to bed that night (which never happens) or take nap next time with him (which never happens).
