Literally just crosses her arms and stares down at the elf. “Oh, I’m sorry. Are you going to make me? Because I swear I will headbutt your ass off the side of Skyhold if you even try.”

She tries to keep a normal face but ends up grinning anyway. “He does, yeah. I stuck a book under one leg, an’ it made him bonkers!"Bahrain said, lowering her leg to sit up. "You been busy, yeah? Need a break? Some visitin’ nobs need to get pranked.”
“Heard about that. Found it amusing that such a simple thing could get to him. Next time you should sand down one of the legs a bit. even less noticeable and not so easily fixable.” As if Sera needed more ideas put into her head.
With a grin, she pushed off from the door frame and shrugged. “Yeah, I suppose I could do with a break. Why not spend it terrorizing our guests a bit?” Anything to keep her mind off of work for a while. Plus, Sera was always enjoyable company. Every time they talked, Ryaaji ended up smiling. So, she was up for anything she offered.

“I suppose if you snap me in half Josephine can introduce them to my legs.” He grinned mischievously.
While yes Pelle’s job was stressful he didn’t like letting other people see him stressed out. Somehow he felt that if he didn’t seem to have his shit together than the rest of the Inquisition might not feel very secure. Therefore he often masked his stress with quick remarks or humour. Not everyone appreciated his bad jokes, but they were enough that he seemed like he was fine for the most part on a mental and emotional level.
It wasn’t that he didn’t like being Inquisitor, he didn’t mind the responsibility at all. Even so it was overwhelming at times and yes at times the stress was a lot. Even so Pelle knew he was not dealing with all of these things alone. He had his advisors, he had his friends, and he had the rest of the Inquisition behind. The thought of that had made things a little less wild for him.
“I have a feeling Lady Montilyet would prefer the upper half of you. After all, I’m sure she’d like this guest she wants to introduce to you to be able to actually talk to you,” she replied with a laugh.
If anything, Ryaaji felt it helpful to at least allow the inquisitor a few moments away from the stress of thinking about work. She knew it was appreciated for herself, so why not someone who held even more responsibility than she did?
She offered him a smile and shook her head as she looked around. “I won’t sell you out though, don’t worry. I know those kinds of talks are usually nothing but a special kind of torture. You’re safe while you’re sitting with me at least.”

Two hours. Ryaaji had slept for a whole two hours. Despite that, the sun had still woken her. It was like an automatic alarm for her. However this fact had left her in a less than enthusiastic mood. The expression she wore while she exited her room was rather disgruntled. She had figured if she got up and did something, she could attempt to catch a short nap later. Perhaps that would improve her mood.
Lack of sleep left her less than aware of the fact that she was approaching Sera until she was practically running into her. Slowly she blinked as she registered the blonde in front of her. “Well...you’re up early.”

Jace knocked on Ryaaji's door with a very special delivery in the form of a cake box with a raspberry cheesecake inside. Handmade just for her.
Her curiosity perked as she heard the knock on her door. Glad for the distraction from what she was working on, she got to her feet and made her way to the door. Upon opening it, she found her mood much improved. “You have no idea how much I’ve been looking forward to this. Jace, right?”

To say morning wasn’t her strong suit would be an understatement. She knew she had somewhere to be this morning though, so she had forced herself from bed as the sun crested the mountains of Skyhold. A large yawn split her lips as she stumbled through the halls. She almost didn’t register when she bumped into someone. “Ah...sorry about that...” She muttered, not really taking in who she had hit.
Sera lies across the Inquisitor's desk in her chambers, one leg held up in the air. "Hey, you!"
Just kinda stops and leans on the door frame, arms crossed with a grin on her face. “You know, I heard Cullen was the one with a thing for desks, but I’m not about to complain about this.”

Pelle poked his head out from behind the Qunari woman skeptically. “Are you sure?” He asked.
The short freckly elf panned his vision left and right searching the area for the ambassador in her frilly dress. His ears twitched up and down as he examined the courtyard around him. Ryaaji was right, No Josephine. He let out a sigh of relief before he slowly crawled out from behind her and sat on the grass beside the Qunari woman.
“watch her come back any second and catch me…she does that.”
Now she couldn’t help laughing. It was even more amusing when she reminded herself that he was the leader of the great Inquisition. “Well, she certainly puts a hell of a fright into you. Don’t worry, I can always sit on you if she comes back. Pretty sure that’d hide you. Or snap you in half. Fifty-fifty chance really.”
She paused in her work on her blade and tilted her head to look at him again. “So, I’m getting mixed signals on whether or not you like this job. Seems like it’s a bit on the stressful side. And that’s coming from someone who fights for a living.”

Pelle’s smile grew a little wider as he held back his urge to laugh. “I was at first but you aren’t the first I’ve met. You don’t seem as much as a hm…adjective as the others.” Was the best way Pelle could think to describe what had come to his mind. Using the word adjective to describe the other Qunari was in no way meant in a negative manner. It was simply that the ones he knew were simply too unique to be described with words.
“What did you do be-” He had begun to ask before he heard the voice of Josephine in the distance. Immediately the Inquisitor’s shoulders stiffened as he jumped like a cat. Swiftly he ran around the Qunari and his behind her larger frame. He remained silent as the dead for a long solid five minutes.
“…is she gone?”
“Well that makes more sense. I’ve heard there was a few others here...One especially seems to be more well known. Haven’t met yet though.” She wasn’t even phased by the choice in description. It was a lot better than some of the things she was used to, at least. It was a damn miracle she didn’t stab everyone in Orlais whenever she had the misfortune of traveling there. Overhearing comments about being someone’s lost pet caused a very keen desire to cause a lot of bloodshed.
At the sudden halt in his question, she found herself confused until he was hidden behind her and she spotted the source of his distress. A wide grin broke over her lips, but she played along, quietly pulling her other dagger from it’s holster and beginning to work on polishing that one. She even offered a pleasant smile when Josephine wandered a bit closer. Even long after she had walked off with frustration clear on her face, Ryaaji stayed quiet until the quiet voice sounded behind her.
“Yeah, she’s gone. For now.”

“Of course I’d say hello. There’s a lot of people here, it can be discouraging no one bothers to welcome you.” He said giving her a soft smile.
“I’m not busy at the moment but I will be if Lady Montilyet finds out. You see there’s this Orlesian visitor here who insists she is simply dying to meet me. I saw her from a good few feet away and uhm…I’d prefer she thinks I have my hands full.”
To be honest he felt this way about a lot of the guests…or…well no prejudice intended but a lot of the Orlesian guests. More often than not they were female…and even more often than that most who saw his face or heard him speak had…interesting comments to utter. If it wasn’t about his being Dalish it was his age. If it wasn’t his being Dalish, it was that he was a mage. If none of these things his voice was emasculating or too soft to be a leader. And most often, women often first and foremost who saw his face could not resist the impulse to exclaim about him being… cute.
There were always so many questions. Questions Pelle didn’t want to answer. They were politely offensive or simply obvious. How did he feel as Dalish leading a human organization? What was his opinion about politics that he could care less about? How did he get so many people to listen to him when he had such an insignificant and friendly appearance? It never ended really. Lady Montilyet had often praised him for having the patience to bear with the ignorant comments and questions…but at this point Pelle was much more likely to hide from them rather than introduce himself. Josephine…did not approve of this “childish” behavior as she called it. If she knew he was free and hiding she would certainly make him meet this Orlesian visitor.
“Ah, the business of politics. Makes me glad all I have to do is know how to swing a blade. You know, without getting hurt myself. Which I suppose is a feat in itself.” She picked up the dagger she had set aside and replaced it in the holster on her back alongside the other one. For the moment she remained where she sat. It was more comfortable to be almost near eye level versus having to look down to talk to someone...which was just about everyone.
“Though I suppose I can see what you mean about feeling discouraged, there’s no need to worry about me. Aside from the mercenary team I worked with, I was on my own a lot. I figured being here wouldn’t be too much different. Plus not nearly as many people are thrown off by my being a Qunari here. Some peculiar looks, but tolerable.”
If there was one thing she was familiar with, it was the constant state of being judged for what she was. By this point in her life, it didn’t even bother her anymore. Many were intimidated just by her looking at them. It ended a lot of their questions before they even started. “Not intimidated by a Qunari then? Gotta admit, that’s pretty admirable.”

“I mean that’s what everyone else is saying.” He smiled. It was still odd to think that he was charge of all these people. A little unsettling at times but he would manage. Pelle had only met a few Qunari since joining the Inquisition. One worked in the kitchens and the other was a kind bespectaled soul. And then there was the Iron Bull….an adjective in all rights.
“Were you expecting someone uhm…bigger?”
He knew he hardly looked the leader type. He was short for his age, had freckles on is face that were practically framed by his valaslin, he was scrawny and had the face of a young boy. On top of all of this he was a healer. When people thought of leaders of big causes like this they probably imagined someone like a former Templar or maybe a First Enchanter or something. Certainly not a young Dalish boy.
She very nearly laughed at that question. To be perfectly honest, when she had first heard about the group forming to fight demons and bring order back to the world, she had in fact imagined a much bigger and more bruteish leader. However, when she had discovered that a young elf was in charge, she wasn’t actually overly shocked.
“Well I won’t lie, yeah. I kinda was,” she replied with a soft shrug, but followed with a grin. “But hey, all things considered at least you don’t look the type to go throwing your weight around just because you can.” She had had more than enough of that while working as a mercenary. “I guess I’m more surprised that you’d bother spending the time greeting me. Figured you’d be a bit busy...or something.”

The googly-eyed seagull returns, following the inquisitor as they walk about skyhold, squawking on occasions and being a general distraction to others while staying out of reach.
At first, the seagull brought annoyance. What was this bird even doing in the frozen mountains of Skyhold? Somehow it had to have ended up on a caravan that had returned here. Of course, that didn’t explain why it chose to follow her of all people. On several occasions she had tried to shoo the bird out of the building only to end up looking a fool as he fluttered to a higher place and squawked at her.
Eventually, she gave up, simply allowing the bird to follow her. While sitting in her room she would even occasionally make a comment to the avian or toss it a piece of bread. Certainly there cold be worse things following her about.
"Well Hello there." Pelle folded his arms behind his back and smiled kindly at the Qunari. "I heard you were new here. So I thought I'd welcome you."
It took a moment to realize that he was talking to her. With a blink, she set aside her dagger that she had been polishing and smiled weakly. It wasn’t often someone addressed her so...politely. Though he also looked familiar.
“Oh, yeah. Just got here a few days ago. Figured this was a good cause to put myself to work on. The name’s Ryaaji.” It hit her then, why he looked familiar. “Hey, aren’t you the one who’s basically in charge around here?”

“Shut it, you!” Sera tugged on the knot of the bandage a little more than necessary. She sat back on her heels, examining the rest of the bandages to make sure Ryaaji isn’t bleeding through. Standing, Sera pulled an Elfroot potion and offered it to the woman. “You’d die without us. An’ if you tried leavin’ with out us, I’ll throw bees in your tent while you sleep.”
A soft wince was her only response to the tightness of the bandage. She gave an exaggerated roll of her eyes but took the offered bottle without arguing. Ryaaji downed the bitter tonic quickly, nose wrinkling at the flavor. “Even after all this time I still don’t like the taste,” she muttered more to herself before looking back to Sera.
“And if I leave without telling you where I’m going, how are you going to track down my tent to throw bees in? Some of the places they send me to I can be gone for days, as I’m sure you well know.”
-delivers a normal, chocolate cake with sprinkles and a new message "Ha! Got you. From, One Specific Cook"-
To say she is slow to trust this cake is an understatement. In fact, she now half expects the cake to taste of dirt or be loaded with some unseen spice. She sits at her desk with her legs and arms crossed, leaning back in her chair and inspecting the confectionery treat with a hard gaze.
At least she knows it’s not poisoned. After all, who would go through the trouble of sending a prank cake and then attempt to oust her while her suspicions are even higher? That would be a fool thing to do.
But damn it if that craving for cake still remained even after the last incident. So, after much contemplation, she swipes her finger over the new cake. This time she sniffs at it first. It smelled enough like chocolate...
A delighted hum rose in her throat when she found this cake to be not only prank free, but absolutely divine. She was going to have to find this cook. ...After eating some cake of course.
