thanks for the ask <3 @blainxydxys also asked this ship, so let’s just combine. forewarning, a lot of these are going to be Sam. He’s just such a romantic, he loves Mercedes a lot :’)
Who buys flowers for the other?
Sam comes home with massive bouquets of flowers for his wife way too often. He’s always coming up with new, tiny reasons to bring them home for her. Mercedes loves the gesture but she starts to become overwhelmed by the amount of flowers that are just starting to take over their home
Who makes the other coffee / tea?
Sam’s always making tea for Mercedes even when she doesn’t ask for it (he says it’s to help her voice). She thinks it’s sweet, and makes him coffee on the occasion that he just wakes up in a bad mood (which is rare, but Mercedes making him coffee and breakfast cheers him up)
Who eats the most candy on Halloween?
Sam just goes all out. When him and Mercedes get trick or treaters, half the candy is gone before the night even begins because Sam couldn’t resist. Mercedes just knows to buy extra bags of candy after a few Halloween’s, knowing that Sam won’t ever stop this habit.
Who tries new recipes all the time?
Sam comes up with new recipes all the time to impress Mercedes on date nights. He’s actually quite a good cook.
Who genuinely likes pineapple on pizza?
Mercedes loves it. Sam is disgusted.
Who wears hats on special occasions?
Honestly, neither. Mercedes thinks hats take away from her beauty, and Sam is always trying new hair styles. Hats just cover that up!
Both, but only Mercedes admits to actually loving it. Sam hopes Mercedes puts it on, but never actually asks
Who likes long walks on the beach?
Definitely Mercedes. She just thinks they are so relaxing and romantic. Sam goes with her to the beach because he knows she loves it, but usually just ends up going to tan his abs (occasionally falling asleep and getting sunburnt instead)
Who buys wacky picture frames?
Sam comes home with new frames. Mercedes hates them and thinks they are tacky. They are often just thrown away secretly by Mercedes, but Sam keeps buying more, hoping that one day she will let him keep them (he does eventually buy one that Mercedes loves, and it’s the one she ends up keeping, but she never admits it)
Who compares themselves to celebrity / fictional couples?
Sam, being the massive nerd he is, is always comparing him and Mercedes to iconic sci-fi and fantasy couples, and they proceed to have a lot of movie nights involving the films that include these couples, so Sam can point out the moments that totally match him and Mercedes (Mercedes eventually catches on to the fact that he’s only comparing them and these couples because he wants an excuse to watch said films with her)
Who can solve a Rubix cube?
Neither. Mercedes has no interest in solving one, and Sam owns one that he has tried to solve for years, but still hasn’t gotten it down
Who would wear Hawaiian shirts on vacation / during the summer?
Sam would. He owns a massive collection and Mercedes dreads the day that he takes them all out every year.
Who wears mismatched socks because they can’t keep up with the pairs?
Sam is constantly just losing socks in general. He doesn’t even mismatch them, they’re just missing all the time. Mercedes, every week, has to go out and buy him new socks.
