I miss my patio

Doing the inside things but outside

Keeping the windows open and my music playing

Freshly mopped floor and a sleepy cat looking out the screen door

I was taking it day by day, wishing for an even more blissful future.

But now I wait in a room with my entire life in it, its too hot to keep the window open

The air is stale, and my friends outside are too far

I miss my patio, a slab of concrete, a camping chair, and a cooler pretending to be a side table

A dressed up instant coffee and wondering who id get to talk to today, or where id last minute plan dinner.

I miss my patio.

I lay here, sometimes sitting there. My time outside is because it had been too long, and the air is finally done boiling. Just an errand, nothing special.

I miss my patio.

Telling my parents how homesick I am and how selfish I feel, finally being in an air I can breathe in and reminisce peacefully in. But only if we can plan it accordingly.

I am selfish to miss my patio.
